HI, I am new here and a new ATV owner of 2 days. To skip the sob story jump to the 2nd paragraph…. I just purchased a 50 acre farm and frankly have no cash. But I needed a way to get around the place, check on animals and fix fences. Without the capital to buy a truck, I decided an ATV would be the way to go. I found one on Craigslist that seem perfect, a 2000 xplorer 400cc 4×4. Spoke with guy on the phone a few times and seemed legit. He brought the ATV around on Wednesday evening and I test rode it for 10 minutes it seemed great. I paid him and he drove off – no sooner had he got to the end of my road – but the ATV lost all power. Full throttle and it barely went forward. I called him, he picked up and did not know what could be causing the issue, said he had not seen this before. He promised to come back this weekend but has not answered his phone Since!!
So, to the issue (which is why you all are here anyway, not hear me crying). The ATV (Can I call it a bike?) starts up just fine, hardly any choke. It idles just fine. After a good 10 minute warm up, it runs great for 10 minutes, then slowly looses all power. It feel like its running on 1/8 throttle – and the revs wont climb, even though the throttle is wide open. If I try ride again after 4 hours, it will run well for maybe 5 minutes, but then it back to bad-ass looking stroller. If left overnight, it will operate well for 20 minutes, then slowly loose power as it heats up. There is a small puddle of gas under (what I assume to be the carb drain Pipe) the engine in the morning.
New to this forum. Recently bought a ’94 Big Boss 400L 2-stroke 6X6.
Someone has butchered the front wheel drive. Chain missing. Magnetic coils missing. switch on handlebar missing. Inside the hub, whatever that is called that has the spring loaded barrels around it is still there. There is no oil of any kind in the hub. I am OK that i will probly not ever fix the front wheel drive my question is, Can i seal the hub to hold oil or even grease, without those coils on there. i am new to owning Polaris, new to auto tranny, new to whatever that front hub/clutch system is called. However not new to jury rigging anything!
Help me out here. Thanks.
I have an issue that’s driving me nuts. I want to remove the front struts from my 2004 sportsman. Shocks are still attached to the bike. Lower A arm is off, brakes, etc. All I need to do is take the nut off the top that holds the strut onto the bike.
However when I try to take of the top nut the center of the strut spins around. Vice grips will not help.
I have a 2001 polaris magnum 325 4×4 and my idle was set too high and everytime i would go to put it in gear (automatic) it would grind really bad and it finally seemed to strip out the high gear and now it wont go into high gear. Im wondering if i need a whole new transmission or is it something i could replace. Dont know much about these things if anyone could help or give me advise it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
so i need to replace my front diff in my 2011 850 xp eps, but i cant/dont want to afford a brand new one.
so i looked online at polarispartsmonster.com and they show part #1332804 crossed out and part #1332963 as a new number. So does this mean if i find a used diff with part #1332963 on it, I should be ok?
