2002 Sportman 500 fuel pump question

Picked up this bike for 500. Had a mr gasket electric fuel pump on it, and flooded out when running. I ordered a replacement stock pump, installed it but the inlet is pretty much right on top of the petcock.

So…. it looks good as far as mounting based upon the PDF of the service manual, but something has to be wrong.

Thoughts? Idea’s? Suggestions???

Thanks

please help

I have a 2003 Trail Boss 330 that I bought my daughter. It was running great the all of a sunden it started acting like it was running out of fuel when she pushed the throttle. still Idles great but it will bog and backfire through carb when giving it gas. I cleaned out the carb (4 times) new spark plug and fuel filter. Swapped pump with a good running atv. swapped coils. I am at a loss. Any ideas>

Exhaust cherry red

I have a 2004 Polaris Sportsman 700.My issue is that it won’t idle and after riding the machine for about 15 min. the pipe gets cherry red at the head and it sounds like the donut is gone but i just replaced it about 10 hours ago. Also it spits and sputters at low rpm up to 4000 and after that it smooths out.

ECM/ECU replacement

I have a 09 polaris touring 500 efi , I cant access the diagnostic mode and the machine does nothing when you turn the key, the fuel pump doesn’t engage and no clicks . The main instrument cluster does come on but that’s all. Before parking in garage I did have trouble starting but eventually ran fine and backed into the garage. My question is does it sound like the ECU need replaced?
Thanks for any Help.

06 Sportsman ECM/ Rectifier question

I have recently acquired a 2006 Sportsman 450. The ECM was replaced on recall in August 2015 (previous owner, confirmed by dealer). As luck would have the NEW one also crapped out. The internal voltage regulator, inside the ecm of course, is not working and battery over charges to 18V at 3000 rpm+ (tested with meter)

My question is, has anyone tried to put in an external regulator between the stator and ecm or between the dcm and the battery to regulate the voltage going to the battery? The ecm is $150 retail and regulators are cheaper than that.

I have a new ecm on order at dealer, but I am curious if this would work.

Thanks for any replies and advice you may have to offer!!!
