I have my friends 500 sportsman ran great put in the garage. Pulled it out 3weeks later won’t start. I check for spark has plenty. Check fuel it’s good. Checked comp. it’s good. Was wounding if the crank trigger bad? It acts like it jumped time. Open to suggestions? :mog:

I let my brother borrow my wheeler for some moose hunting and after a 30 mile ride statr came up on display. Machine starts and runs but no charging activity from stator. I unhooked the yellow/red and yellow and did the amp test described in service manual and didnt get any amps. This to me means the stator is toast. Its the ducati system acording to sticker on flywheel. I have only replaced the VR when it was charging at 19 volts. Im pretty new to the 4 wheeler scene so bear with me. Thanks

When I first start my 2005 Sportsman 400 the starter seems to stay engaged for just an extra second or so. It always disengages, but it just sounds sloppy.
Is this adjustable?
Is the solenoid replaceable or is it part of the starter?
Should I even worry about this?

I have a cracked part on the body of my 2005 Sportsman 400.
I attempted to glue it back on with WB Weld "Clear" two part epoxy.
But once it dried, it just pealed off the plastic like it was a non-stick surface!!
Has anyone tried the Plastic Epoxy? Does it work any better? Any other suggestions?

I really don’t know much about ATV mechanics so I need some help. I have a 2000 Polaris Scrambler 400 4×4 that has been sitting in my dad’s pole barn for about the past ten years without running. Last fall I tried starting it and it started just fine but then after a few seconds the engine would die. Eventually, after many tries, it stopped cranking altogether. I’m aware that sitting around for that long it will have some problems but it’s in good condition and i just need to know what i need to do to get it running.

Hey guys have a 2012 polaris xp850 and im throwing the 520 194-7 code took it into the dealership they checked throttle position sensor everything ok, checked handlebars things were not pinched and still throwing code now dealership wants to replace main wiring harness 680.00 for harness and then labor any help with this problem would greatly be appreciated

The exhaust donut between the elbow coming out of the engine and the rest of the exhaust has completely worn out so my exhaust rattles and is crazy loud coming out right there. I’m supposed to be hunting in two days and really don’t wanna be cruisin through the woods like that and no local dealers have the part. For the time being would high temp rtv work to seal it back up and stop the rattle?

2011 sportsman 550 bought off a guy,tore it down and found that you can’t, spin primary clutch,I pulled it off,and still can not spin shaft,any ideas.

I have a 2006 Sportsman 500. Believe it or not, I’ve only changed the oil once since I bought it brand new, after the initial break-in. (I know, my bad…) Anyway, I’m about to do it again, and have read the instructions in the service manual, and have some questions.

Screen Fitting:
When I take that out, what should I use to clean it? Gas?
When I put it back in, is it okay to use teflon tape? The service manual says loctite thread sealant 565 or equivalent. Any tips on this part?

Oil Pump Priming:
What is a good method/tool to pinch off that vent hose for priming? vice grips, my fingers?
