400 engine gaskets

I am rebuilding a 95 xplorer 400 4×4. The gasket for the left side crank half is in good shape, no rips. Is it safe to reuse? We replaced the head gasket about a year ago and it is also in good shape. I don’t see any reason not to save the money and try them again. I’ve also read somewhere that you can use silicone gasket maker for the jug, what do you guys think.

Predator 500, worst quad ever?

Ok, maybe a slight exaggeration on the worst quad ever, but I’m getting beyond frustrated with this thing so posting while a little pissed off.

Bought the quad and the valves where all out of whack, got that fixed, go to ride and then the starter one way clutch fails, there goes another week of riding, got that fixed and it doesn’t idle for crap and dies out. Got that "somewhat" fixed, still dies out tho, take it to the atv park and get about an hour in and it starts making bad noises. I haven’t been able to get one days riding out of this thing without issue and issue. I rode Hondas my whole life and never had issues with them. Never left be broken down somewhere, this Polaris has me pushing it back home every time I get on it. It starts up fine but as soon as I start moving it sounds like a rock is in the chain or something, obviously I looked the chain over and it’s fine/clear. I’m guessing something broke in the trans?

How to disconnect U-joint to front differential?

I’m removing the front differential in my sportsman 570 because both bearings that support the axles are shot and I’m having a hard time taking the axles out of the diff and getting it off the driveshaft so what do I do? Also when trying to unbolt lower a arm only one bolt came out the other side would just spin, and I’m wondering if I could have crushed the plastic bushing when trying to pull it out?

2014 Sportsman 850 XP HO PS rear wheel bearing size specs

I have a 2014 Sportsman 850 XP HO PS and while giving her a clean up I noticed one of my rear wheel bearings was a little loose. It doesn’t make any noise or grind and actually sounds and feels pretty good but it has a little too much play for me. Did a little research on them and it seems this is pretty common even on a new bearing but I am not comfortable sitting on a 850 at 60-70 MPH with a sloppy wheel bearing. I use alot of different bearings in my other hobby (R/C Planes and stuff) and deal with a local bearing company here that can get what-ever I need if I get him the specs. I just don’t want to tear my bike down to get them if I don’t have to. Any one know the specs on the rear wheel bearings?

idle/rev problem after stator replacement, 450 Sportsman

Hi,

So just replaced my stator on my 2007 450 Sportsman. I used an aftermarket Rick’s Motorsports stator, #21-560.

The bike will now begrudgingly start after a bit of cranking (always has been a quick start), and will only idle with throttle applied. It will not rev much beyond idle.

The obvious question is why… any suggestions?

A few things during install:

Had to use the original plugs, as the replacement stator didn’t have any. The 3 yellow leads from the stator didn’t have any numbering that I could see, so I connected them in no particular order. Is there a correct order?

The lead that heads to the front of the bike with a brown wire, a white, and a white with red stripe (the 2 whites come from the pulse coil). The replacement had different colors for the 2 whites. I took a guess on putting these into the plug, since I didn’t know which new wire corresponded to the OEM stator wires. Could this make a difference?

Thanks for any help/advice you can give… and please ask if you need more information!
