Mounting screw size

Anyone know what thread pitch and screw length is required to mount #1…front bumper 4 screws # 2….. Rear rack 6 screws. It is a 2001 sportsman 400. I just found the bumper and rear rack online for the atv but there are no screws with it and I hate to pay oem prices for a screw, thanks

water in oil ( 2002 700 twin )

2002 700 twin

Been having a lot of water in the oil so I pulled the head off and can not tell if it was the head gasket. Any other place where water can come from ? Visually the head looks fine, ( The head does have a some sort of clacking from the valves when the motor heats up.. thinking about that I probably have some water in the lifters causing that sound.. ) cylinders walls look good. Just not sure if it is head gasket..

Coolant issue please help!!!!! 94 scrambler 400

Ok guys I have an 09 polaris scrambler 400. Motor was just redone and everything.

Had a coolant pressure issue due to not bleeding the system. That was fixed.

Now when it gets warm if I rev it high revs it kicks out the top of that radiator through the radiator cap. Could this just be a bad cap. It doesn’t do it on regular revs just on high revs that I can see.

Any help would greatly be appreciative

Radiator overflowing, please help.

I have a 2012 850 xp. Today while riding I noticed something dripping under the atv. I check it out and see it is coolant coming out of the radiator cap. The overflow seem just about empty. I check radiator and it looks empty. All I had with me was water So I put some in to make it home. The bike never seemed to get hot. No error lights. but it kept leaking through the radiator cap itself. It did get low on coolant and start blowing bubbles in to the overflow tank.
So it is now parked. Riding it was fine. No bad noises no difference in anything. Besides the coolant coming out of the cap.
From reading here it seems to be it is either a bad radiator cap or bad head gasket. I don’t see fluid leaking from anywhere else on the bike.

Can someone please help me here on what it could be? If I get the cap tested and it is bad, does that mean it is likely not also the head gasket? And what type of coolant should I buy to refill?

2006 SP 500 EFI – Amsoil Full FLuid Change Notes

Hey all, just replaced all the fluids on my 2006 SP 500 EFI and wanted to share my experiencenotes. Some of this is likely repeat so I apologize, but wanted to give my perspective.

Fluids used:

Oil Change

Pretty straightforward. You are going to need a 14mm wrench for both the oil plug and crankcase bolts. I opted against removing the screen for a few reasons. First it seems most people simply don’t other then those first few changes and second I did not want to have to deal with priming the oil pump.

The hardest part here was dealing with the crankcase bolt which is in a tricky spot. Those of you who have done this know what I mean. 🙂 Removing it is not so bad, it is the getting it back in. I ended us using a needle nose pliers to line it up and then one finger to start turning it.

The filter was also a pain.. I tried three different filter wrenches to no avail and finally only got it off using a pliersclamping style wrench. Replace by putting a bead of fresh oil on new filter and only put back on hand tight. Refill was 2qts total. Remember to clean any metal particles of the plugs.

Trans Oil Change

Both the transmission drain and fill plugs are 16mm. Be sure you can remove fill plug before you drain. I was a little concerned at first as it seemed to me I did not drain no where near as much as I put in which was 1qt. To refill I used a funnel with a long bendable end. Pour slowly. It took the entire qt.

Front Diff Change

The drain plug for the front diff is 7/16 nut and the fill plug is a 5/16 allen. My model calls for 5oz refill. I wasn’t confident measuring that out accurately using the bottle given how I have read how crucial the fluid amount is, so I poured about 6oz into a plastic measuring cup compensating for about an 1oz due to leftover and spillage. Used the same funnel with long bendable end to refill.

I also greased the few zerks I have.. seemed to mostly be a sealed system for this generation.

Well that’s about it.. hope this helps!
