04 Scrammy 4×4 not working

Ok, I have a wired one. I am troubleshooting wires right now but here is what it does, no 4×4 but I do get full power to the right wheel only in reverse and with the over ride engaged. No AWD light illuminating on the switch. I’m reading about 5v on the black wire at the AWD switch. Shouldn’t that be 12v? Anyway, I’m heading back into that garage but I’d love to hear some ideas!

only runs with jumpers

I think I know the answer. but just checking before I spend money. 2006 sportman 700 efi. been sitting for a while. waiting on finances allow me to buy an axle. any who. tried starting it. turned the key and nothing. gauges didn’t lightup, nothing. figured I had a dead battery. put some jumpers on it and it started. as soon as I pulled the jumpers off it would die. that would be my magneto correct?

Stator short to ground, 06 sportsman 450

Ok, been having overcharge issue for a couple weeks now. I bought new ecm thinking it was voltage regulator as battery was metering at 16-18 volts at 3000-4000 rpm. After new ecm (regulator is built in on this model year), same overcharge issue. I tested stator legs and they are ALL showing a short to ground. All three legs are putting out 24-25 volts ac at 200 rpm. I pulled stator and gave it a good cleaning and checked for any visible signs of burning/damage etc (none found). So I figured maybe it was a bad ground, so I cleaned ALL the ground connections on machine and even made a new ground wire from ecm to chassis ground near battery *i figured the regulator needs to dump extra voltage through ground so this would give it a clear path). Issue continued, so after a temper tantrum I decided to come here for help. The VR is good, the battery is good (tried three of them all known good just in case).

Big question, will stator open to ground cause overcharge issue? It is the only remaining fault in the system so I am hoping this is it.

I am planning on buying new stator, and since I’ve already thrown a few hundred bucks at the ecm and some other unrelated issues I am NOT getting $400 oem stator. I am considering going with Caltric stator ($66) on ebay/amazon. Has anyone used them? Input on them? If they are junk, ,what is a good middle of the road affordable stator? Should I bring stator to a shop to be re-wound and can I fix the short myself?

95 Polaris sportsman 400 2 stroke

Ok I’m not sure if I’m posting in the right spot I’m new so idk anyways I just got this Polaris a couple days ago my first Polaris and I rode it a couple of days it never ideled because carb was flooding but a couple of days ago was riding it and it started losing power bogging really bad then shut off and has been hard to start every since so I let it sit over night not knowing what was wrong went to crank it next day it was hard to start got it started ran for about 1 minute starts bogging and shuts off again it’s like when it warms up somthing happens and it shuts off and can’t really get it started again so I was looking and noticed there was an oiler and I already premixed gas so I figured it was spark plug fouled took it out cleaned it made sure it was still firing put it in no change cleaned carb no change examined reeds they were good still no change it was also empty on oil so I have a leak but I filled it back up with oil and still no change there is no water in oil and water is still full I am so lost on what this is please someone help me
