How do I disconnect the choke cable from the carb on a 2004 sportsman 700? I have the throttle cable off but can’t figure out the choke cable. Thanks for your help
Hey guys, I might be a polaris owner by the end of the week. Going to check out a 99 500, 2500 km, green, pictures show it well. The guy says the 4×4 doesn’t work and it’s electrical related, just wondering if it’s a well known issue or its some switch/solenoid/ random wire mess.
also anything else you can tell me about the quad would be sweet. I don’t know much about them

Just wanted to post what I have found for an alternative to the Polaris 4110225 fan switch which is NLA.
I used a Derale Part Number 16731 Fan Switch to replace a bad OE switch on a 1997 Magnum 425. You will need a 1/2" NPT (male) to 1/8" NPT (female) brass bushing/adapter to assemble it to the radiator (be sure not to over-tighten in the radiator). The on temp is 190 F and off temp is 175 F.
I ordered one from etrailer.com for $29 shipped and then picked up the brass adapter for $2.00 from our local Fleet Farm (but any good hardware store should have it too).
I had to take the terminals out of the factory connector, protected them with some heat shrink, and then installed them individually to the tabs on the temp switch (the order doesn’t matter). Everything seems to be working great.
Hello again!! Nice to be back on my Hawkeye riding the roads. Just took my son down a hunting road with plenty of mud holes and he had a blast. Wasn’t sure how deep the holes were (first time on the road in those conditions) and some ended up being pretty deep…deeper than I thought. Engine bogged down pretty good, guess because the exhaust was in the water…just kept it floored. After one hole, it didn’t want to go too fast. I’m guess it was because water in the transmission. I got parked and looked at the drain hole where the plastic yellow bolt/plug was suppose to be at, and it was missing….AGAIN. Idled it up for a little bit, and dark/black water came out of the drain hole. I’m guessing it was just belt residue turning the water black. But got it back on blacktop and could open it up no problem.
Any tips for when doing this stuff maintenance wise? And does anyone just run it without the plastic plug in it?
Have a 2005 scrambler that jumps out of high under hard acceleration. Works fine with easy throttle and stays in gear. Only during open throttle from a stop does this happen. Any ideas?
Attempting to drain the counter balance oil but a few ounces of green fluid came out. The plug is on the bottom just forward of the starter. It’s a 10mm plug with a Phillips slot. Angled about a 45 degrees compared to the floor. After closer inspection it appear to below the output shaft to the primary clutch. I think the counter balance oil drain plug is a few inches closer to the centerline. Any ideas on what and where to fill the green fluid from?
I have a problem with my 2012 sportsmen 500 with 900km. I started noticing a problem when I would start it in gear with the override with the brake on the handle bar. With the key on I would press the brake, then the dash would go out and wouldn’t start, I would turn the key off and then back on again and it would start. Then when I was driving it, I used the brake again and it died, dash went out wouldn’t start, now it won’t start at all no matter what I do. All I have done is Check the fuses at the front and they are good. Going to start Checking all power and grounds to the module. I was just wondering if anyone knew where I can get a schematic and if anyone has seen this problem before. I don’t abuse my atv and it’s always kept in a garage.
