Some Polaris fan boy told me no after market belt will beat a Polaris oem one but I have a feeling he has a bias opinion. I put a Dayco belt on my Yamaha sled when the new one wrote out and it was fine. I’ll only asking because I can find a Dayco one a lot cheaper.

Polaris Trail Boss 325 starter problems
I have a 2001 Trail Boss 325. When I turn on the ignition key, the starter automatically engages and will not disengage. The only way I can get to disengage is to remove battery cable. Can pull start and it cranks, but when I put the battery cable back on battery, starter engages. Help!

sooo, what is your favorite tech tip…
mine is when removing the bolts for the lower front a arm, ya’know you get one out and the other just spins the rod inside… well, i take the easy one out and put a spacer on the bolt like a smaller socket and tighten it back up, now its holding the rod and the other one comes right out. the easy one comes right back off cause i only used a few threads.

’04 Sportsman 500HO has some issues
Hi, just bought an ’04 Sportsman 500HO from a friend for $600. It has a winch and a snow plow and it visually in good shape for 11 years old. HOWEVER, the original owner wine to get on it about 8 months ago and it wouldn’t start. So rather than fix it, he bought a new quad… Then my buddy had it and now I have it. So it wouldn’t start for me; could’t even get the plug to get a spark. I adjusted the pulse coil on the fly wheel ( it was about 1/2" away from the fly wheel…) and now I have spark but it will only fire with starting fluid. I’m pretty sure the fuel pump is vapor locked which is why I’m not getting fuel to the carb. I’ll be freshening up all fluids this weekend when I dig back in to it. I’m fairly confident I’ll be taking the carb apart for cleaning too.
The other issue I have is the starter won’t work either. It has a new battery and spark plug, and when I turn the key, the coil next to the battery just clicks. I tapped the started lightly with a mallet thinking maybe it was going bad and locked up and it turned over a few times but now won’t do anything.
Other info, I did a compression test using the pull starter and am getting 90lbs.

HI guys. I just bought a sportsman 500×2 efi 2007 that doesnt run well. It idles fine, but stalls after around 4000-4500rpm. it shows codes 22 58 56 55 41 45. Short circuit? I have replaced the harness to the map sensor. Also the light on the instrument is still on without ignition. ?? Sorry for bad english, I am from Sweden..

1998 Polaris Sportsman 400L
Hi, I have a 1998 Polaris Sportsman 400 liquid cooled, 2 cycle quad. Its been a great quad and runs great. Recently I had it on a good ride and hit some heavy mud spots. After getting it cleaned up and put new fluids in it, I realized it had a small amount of anti-freeze seeping from the lower right side on the case near the water pump. The hole looked like a bleeder type of hole that was made in the case. It quit doing it after riding it for a little bit but just concerned what that was or if it would get worse. Any suggestions?
350 trailboss won’t idles only sometimes
The ’91 350 has recently developed a problem where it idles fine only once in a while but usually dies, it doesn’t seem to be temperature related as it’s so unpredictable, I’ve rebuilt the carb. And still have the same results,, a friend suggested it may be a bad reed valve, … Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated
