2000 Magnum Taillight/ Brake Light

The taillight is not working on my 2000 Magnum, as either a taillight, which I assume it’s supposed to when key is on. It is not functioning as a brake light either. I put a new bulb in it first. With key on I’m not getting any power to the taillight pigtail, nor with brakes applied. I see from the repair manual there are two separate circuit breakers in that harness the first one a 20 amp just forward of the pigtail connector, the other further up and that is called the FAN CIRCUIT BREAKER ?? They are sold are circuit breaker kits, haven’t cut mine open but was wondering if they are serviceable as in not buying the kits for $31 bucks apiece.

normal noise??

I have a Polaris 250 Trail Boss. It starts great and engine sounds fine. At idle, I hear a noise, I believe from behind clutch cover. Is it normal to hear some noise from this area? Belt is fine. Does the clutch, when normal, have what sounds possibly like a metallic rotating noise?
Thanks

Cold weather non starting 2014 Ranger

Hello folks and thank you for all the future help you might provide. I have an 2014 Polaris Ranger 570 Efi, which I purchased new and has about 500 miles on it now. The problem I have with it is during the winter about 10 degrees or less it will turn over and try to start and then flood the plug. I have been back to the dealer for a so called computer flash.
This did nothing at all the next morning, I have tried battery pack and dry gas, regular unleaded NOT super and same thing different days last year when I tried to go ice fishing..

Is a inline heater the solution or does anyone else have any suggestions?

Thank you very much, Brian

04 500 HO loss of power

Hey Guys,
new to the forum so hopefully some of you can help me out.
I just bought a 2004 sportsman 500 HO from an older man who bought it brand new. Not a lot of maintenance had been done to the wheeler because he only used it to plow his driveway. It actually only has 500 miles on it.

All the rides i take it on so far have been pretty fast just flyen down dirt roads, and it screams on flat ground. Runs perfect. but as soon as i head up a hill i get a total loss of power. never shuts off on my but i go from 35mph to 15 in no time on hardly any incline.

As soon as i bought it i took it in the my local polaris shop and had it completely looked over, carb cleaned, all new fluids. All the mechanics there say the things clean as a whistle. Any Ideas?

Maybe fuel pump?

01 xplorer 4×4 with hot start and electrical issues

I Just picked up a 2001 Xplorer 4×4 this evening. I drove a ways to pick it up and only verified that it ran before i can home with it, shame on me.
The first thing i noticed when i got home with it, was that there was no battery in the tray. Also none of the lights work (headlight, taillight, indicator lights, etc) even when started from pull starter. Also seems the 4×4 doesn’t work.
Second off it won’t pull start at all after the engine is warmed up. It will start first pull if it is cold though.

I think i may have bit off more than i can chew, i can’t even figure out what battery i need to buy for it. If anyone can point me in the right direction as to where i should start, it would be much appreciated.

Ignition system testing…stator and wire color questions; 98 Sportsman 500

Hi..long time lurker, first time poster.
I have a 98 Sportsman 500 4×4 with no spark.
In process of going through the flowchart in the manual for testing the ignition system.
Disconnected the black CDI wire from the panel; still no spark.
Stator: GRN to BLK/R = 0 OHMS (should be around 446)
GRN to R = 1.7 OHMS (should be 3.2)
W to W/R = 108 OHMS (within spec; should be 98ish)
This would tell me the stator needs to be replaced, correct?

The next tests are Y to Y/BRN and Y/R to Y/BRN. I can’t locate these wires under the headlight….do I look for these down in the flywheel housing?

Thanks for taking a second to help me out.

Here’s a Brain Rattler For Ya

To start, I’m Jadyn. I have a 1987 polaris trail boss 250. This wheeler I had 8 years ago and it was running then it came with a no start problem. Couldn’t figure it out. I just recently had tried working on them. Changed everything in order for it to have spark, coil, cdi box, spark plug, etc. Still wouldn’t start. I then realized that the coil needed to be grounded and after I did that, I got spark again. Now, I had tore down the carb three different times and cleaned it, jets and all. Still would not start. So I put some petrol directly into the combustion chamber and boom, it starts. I had it running for a few minutes then I let it die out so I could put it together and take it for a ride; now, here’s where the title comes in…. it does not start. How in the hell can it go from running to not running in 5 minutes???? I am stumped guys. Please help me out. I have another wheeler but the cops are after me because it is not road legal at all…. Thanks you guys for reading!!!!
