I have a 2007 Sportsman 450 (Carbureted). Everything was fine until after I washed it down after a ride, I turned the key to start and all I got was the battery blinking warning. I pull started the bike so I could get it back on the trailer and home.
When I got home, the bike started right up with the key start. I assumed maybe it had gotten a little water somewhere and this was a fluke. I went back out to ride it a week later and had the battery light come back on.
The battery had plenty of power on the starter solenoid was fine. Even jumped past the solenoid and still got the battery light. Then somehow the bike started with the key.
The computer (ECM?) was unscrewed and unhooked, blown out with air and had grease put back in an attempt to make sure no water got in. Hooked everything back up and turned the key… and nothing. No lights no nothing.
I then jiggled the wires coming into the bottom of the computer and the bike started back up. After it was running I jiggled them again and it died.
So I’m assuming I’ve got a short in one of the wires or somehow the computer may have lost its ground?
Has anyone had this happen before, or know what to check?
I have an 88 trailboss 250 I went for a ride one day last summer and it was running fine then it backfired and ran like crap I got to my destination and shut it off and when I tried to restart it wouldn’t tore it apart and I have no spark any advice the coil is good just had it checked today
I have a 1999 Polaris Scrambler 400 4×4, I got it a while back and I love it. Recently while riding it I heard something make a knocking sound and then it shut off. I’m fairly certain the crank bearings are the problem and I need to replace them. Only problem is I can’t get the primary clutch off to remove the left side bearing. I have a 3/4 16 pitch thread bolt which is similar to the clutch puller sold. I’ve done exactly as videos and what I’ve read has described but once the bolt gets all the way in it doesn’t pop off like its suppose too. It seems to be stuck good. Any help or idea on what to do I’ve ran out of ideas.
I have a 2001 sportsman 400. It is my retirement project lol. A question…. While looking at the shift linkage I noticed an aluminum "dog bone" shaped piece that appears to be on the low rang shift linkage. The other end is attached to nothing! What is it supposed to be attached to? I looked in a parts catalog and can’t find anything that looks like it. Thanks
I have a 2001 polaris sportsman 400 4×4 and it seems to be stuck in reverse. I have tried bumping the shift on the gear casse and it still wont come out or shift. What could be the problem and is there another part off of another polaris that i could just swamp gear cases.

I Recently bought a new Sportsman 1000, and I was out trail riding and had been rear ended. (unfortunately no insurance yet) and I had a fair amount of damage, my main concern is my left rear tire is pushed inward in the front, and I don’t know if my lower a arm is bent, or the front mounting tab for that a arm is bent inward towards the diff, any tips on how to diagnose this better? thanks!

I turned on the ignition, all the power was there, put it in neutral and turned the key to start and I heard a click near the solenoid area then remembered I had the battery tender hooked up and now there is no electrical. It sounded like a fuse blew but to my surprise there are no fuses on these things that I know of. Any suggestions? The battery is fully charged. Could I have ruined the solenoid because the tender was attached?
