CTV belt slips
First, sorry my english.
I have a Sportsman XP 850 H.O. ESP my 2014
I modified the engine and now I have about 90 horsepower in engine.
I have one problem. Belt slips.
I used High Lifter 3GX (HLP211) belt. First one product day was 02/2014. That was very good and it not slided. But it broke down.
I bought new one, but it sliding. New belt product day is 08/2014. Same product number, same package ect. The rubber material is different, it´s harder.
Can You help me? That is better belt? That belt You use?
Thanks,
Jukka
sportsman xp sway bar quick disconnect complete
Mentioned first attempt worked but eventually broke..too lazy at time to remove both shocks and check travel arcs…eventually it bent. Motoracer got me fired up again to figure this riddle out…severly overkill, but its function and performance are perfect and no way its breaking…not that it would since i figured the compound movement out.
Bought 3/4" heim joints…100% reason was it fits the holes in the sway bar and a arm mount which on my machine are 11/16", so i drilled them out to accept the 3/4-16 stud on the heim joint. Honestly i dont know if my 1/2" heim cups would have enough travel/pivot for the angles the thing sees thru its arc.
Measured everything out, transfered it to some 1/4" plate and cut some 1/2" rod to use as pegs to bend the 3/4" rod that was used as the link.
Lots of heat, broken peg and a reweld, more heat and bending and created a u shaped chunk of 3/4" rod to slide into heims. After fhe initial c shape was formed, more heat and then had to twist it into a z shape with one leg 90* to the other to account for different opposite motions that take place during compression/extension of suspension while sway bar is coupeled. Then more heat and more bending, more heat more bending until it took the needed shape to work. Looking back i made it with a 6" backbone on the initial c shape i bent…didnt account for all the twisting and bending required and shouldve added 2" to the long portion of the c/u shape i initially started with and couldve ran the heim down further…but his is the shape it had to be to work properly with no binding and allowing for removal.
And this is the quick connect coupling the sway bar
And one of it uncoupeled…still need to make a catch to snap it into place when not in use but you get the idea
Lastly a video to show it in action so to speak

What sort of gains would I get from a clutch kit?
