Just wanted to say hi. Just bought my first utility quad, 05 sportsman hunter 800 efi. I got tired of beating on my JD GT245 garden tractor plowing my driveway and had an 08 Outlaw 450mxr that I bought new and put less than 25hrs on it so I sold it and bought something I could at least get some use out of in the winter. It’s a little beat up and needs a couple things replaced so I’m sure I’ll be doing a lot of reading on here.
I have a 2003 Predator 90. The VIN sticker(s) are worn. The Serial number on the engine/Transmission is: AR07069941. The readable digits on the VIN are: ????A09C23T?69941. I tried using the digits in the service manual example for digits 1-4,12 (RF3E,0) but a VIN lookup didn’t work. I am trying to register it to make it trail legal, but the DNR are being negative stereotypical government employees. Anyone have a suggestion to find the VIN using the info I have?

Hey all, Mike here from Pittsburgh, PA.
I’m a long time motorcycle owner. I have a ’06 Vmax for the street and a ’91 CR500 for the trail.
My kids are getting old enough to go out and ride. We go on family camping trips and I am to the point that the CR5 that I have owned for 20 years isn’t up to par with my lifestyle any more.
I’ve found a buyer for it already. A young guy that owns a quad that I ride with. A bid of irony there I think…..I’m an old guy selling the bike for a quad. He’s a young guy selling his quad for the bike.
Anyways, I’m pretty familiar with the Polaris quads. There is a 300, 400, and 570 in the extended family. All are pretty good machines. I plan to buy myself a Polaris this weekend. Just need to decide which one. I will be starting a separate thread on that.
Thanks for the great forum. It has a wealth of info!
Just picked up an 08′ 800. Looking forward to doing some riding eventually.
These are the specs from his CL ad.
New rhino axles all the way around
Snorkeled air box and clutch
New tire rods
Newly serviced by shop
Including all fluids
New Highlighter belt
New brakes front and rear
Front and rear heavy duty off road bumpers
29.5 Outlaws
2" lift
2500hd polaris winch
1800 miles
So I just picked up a 2009 scrambler 500 4×4 and didn’t know finding aftermarket parts for it would be such a nightmare. I’d like to find different color bodywork-mines red and white and I’d like to make it blue and black. I’d also like to get aluminum wheels to lighten it up a bit, but I want somewhat strong aluminum wheels since I’ll most be doing trail riding. I’d also like to widen it up with more offset in the wheels.
Also, does anyone know if trail blazers, sport 400, scrambler 400 have a lot of interchangeable parts such as bodywork?
So if you know much about wheels and where to buy bodywork please let me know! Thanks!

New to the forum, and relatively new to ATVing in general. I picked up my 2003 Sportsman 600 a couple of years ago, after it had been in storage for three and a half years. It was purchased new by a childhood friend, who died tragically in 2009. After several years of grief and healing, his widow was ready to let it go, and I felt compelled to buy it – needless to say, I LOVE it! ATVing suits me perfectly, and I regret not getting into it sooner! I live in Newfoundland, Canada – an outdoorsman’s paradise, and an ideal locale for ATV and snowmobile enthusiasts. Outside my door, Nature abounds, and it’s interlaced with a myriad of dedicated trails, logging and Hydro roads which give access to virtually the entire province. I hope the forum will allow me to network with like-minded individuals from Newfoundland, as well as others who might be interested in visiting the province for ATV adventures.
Just picked up a 2004 Sportsman 500ho. Real good shape, 1800 miles/222 hours for $2700. Hopefully got a good deal. Always been a honda guy, but honda just doesn’t offer what I wanted (auto/irs) in my price range. Little nervous about the new quad, some reviews claim Polaris are junk, some say the sportsman 500 is one of the best. So far it seems pretty solid overall and the ride is unreal. Any input you guys and gals can offer would be great! Thanks
