While plowing during heavy snow like Goliath, (several inches right at 32°) does your plow ever come out of it’s angled lock position? When mine is angled right, with HEAVY snow, it will pop out of place causing my blade to angle into the right front tire. Jamming on the brakes has so far kept me from replacing a tire. It’s almost as though the spring isn’t strong enough to hold the handle in place, but why is it popping out at all? I’m totally new to plowing, so I’m open to all suggestions, but I’m quite sure everything is put together properly, as all instructions were checked and re-checked. Last snow was deep, but light (15°F) and I had zero problems. Hell I even pushed back the now crunchy stuff from Goliath without any problems. I did angle left this time, when angled though, for something different. Any ideas? Other than this little quirk, the 4 or 5 times I’ve used this plow, it’s been outstanding.
Hey guys I just got my quad back from the shop. Well they had to remove the winch and when the wired it back they did it a little different then the way I did it. I had it wired to the key so the key had to be on for it to work. The shop wired it to the battery, key doesn’t need to be on for it to work. Is there a need for either way or is this kinda whatever floats your boat? How do you have yours wired and why?
I was gunning for a 570 eps wich was setting me back 9000k but I just found out a relative want to sell his 2013 550xp with 1800km on the odo.
What are the weak spot to look for? does the 2013 have the pinch bolt on the sterring stem? Is there any recalls?
The condition is good and the price is exellent since he is selling it to me.
He rolled the bike to the side once while trying a turn slide on the first ride. I was there. The atv only tilted to one side and have scrapes on the side. He repainted them.
As a result the front rack cracked at the lock and ride attatchment, rear rack cracked too becose of passenger box. He rigged the rear one with a plywood to keep the seat. (the front rack will be tossed for a clamshel box anyway)
He also got water in the cvt in a medium sized water hole. Rushed to fast in it. I expect to change the belt and have the clutch fully cleaned. Just crossing fingers I wont have to change buttons and co…
It sounds like the atv was ridden very hard but it wasnt, just 2 new guy accidents.
I will change the air filter to a foam one and the rear rack too, add the polaris front box and use it as a dirt road rider.
Upgrades I should look for as I look do maintenance. I and not a hard guy on my stuff.
I was looking for a 570 eps until I heard of this bike. IMO the better bike is the 550. Right? I test rode both, the 550 three model years in a row and back then it was the best 500cc class bike for fun riding. The 570 is a nervous, fun , snappy engine but the heat problems turn me off since I ride only in the warmer days of summer for a 100 plus km a day. The 550 seems to have trickier maintenance, oil filter under the engine and belt location.
I finally had the opportunity to plow some snow this season with my 2015 Sportsman 570 and new glacier pro. Two time while I was plowing at about 5 miles an hour the plow just pops right off and I almost run it over. Does anybody else have this issue? The plow is installed correctly and the 2 latches that install into the skid plate are attached firmly. ( photo attached ) Is their anything I can do to resolve this problem? It happens when plow is set on an angle and I almost punctured the front tire when I ran it over.

I found a deal on a 05 sportsman. Owner said the engine knocks and it burns oil. around 3000 miles on it. He installed a new spark plug and said it ran better… what would be causing it to burn oil? valve seals? I wish i could run a compression test…he said he was going to get a different motor for it, he said he just doesnt have the time.
i think i can talk him down to 1900
what is everyone’s thoughts?
First post. New to the ATV idea. I bought a used 2012 Honda Rancher. We have been running around the frozen lake with it and every time we let off the gas it just quits and has to be restarted. It is a manual shift model with EFI.
Any ideas or starting points????
We have also noticed it backfires a lot. Could it be the Idle Control Valve?????
Thanks
Sorry about the double post. Not sure how the "!" point became the title. Trying to do too many things at one time….
