Craig’s List Highs and Lows

Craig’s List has good and bad deals and good and bad people and I lived the both sides this weekend , first off a guy list a 300 4×4 for $300 , blown rear end off the bike , jug off the bike , very rusted and rough , except the plastics were like new , it had all the front differential , axles , knuckles and enough parts to make it a great deal for me as I could have built another 4×4 300 from what I already have and that bike , I told the guy I wanted it and was on the phone with him for the second time that day getting directions and he says he was getting a call , and said he would call me right back , he calls back an hour later and says he sold it , I tell him that was a low down and crappy thing to do and he says the other guy lived closer , must have been in a hurry , I am gladit happened like it did ———2nd deal went a lot better , texted the guy at 4:00am on a fresh add for a 300 4×4 for $300, good pics , says it doesn’t run but looks good in the pics , texted him to call me when he got up and he calls me at 6:00 , I tell him I will be there at 8:00 and I want it from the pics no matter what , so he calls me at 7:00 and says he has had 5 calls and people want it , he held it for me and there was 2 different guys there waiting when we pulled up , I got to give it to the guy , he told them I had first shot , took the money out the pocket without even walking over to the bike even though I could see it wasn’t a 4×4 and was a 2wd , got to say one guy didn’t take it to good , he was rambling about he was there first , I been on his end before and I didn’t cry about it , at least not out load ————– so I get the bike home and my good buddy since I was 12 years old was over and a bunch of friends and we are looking at the bike , my neighbor offers me $500 like it is , I am a good mechanic but my friend is the king of troubleshooting bikes , the guy I got it from told us that his Dad had coated the tank , cleaned the carb but could not get fire , it is a 96 so I started taking off the front fender to get to the CDI , once exposed my buddy finds the aux 12 volt power outlet wires melted , cuts back the covering and finds the wires melted into other wires , separated them changed the both fuses , kicked it "ONE" time without a battery in it and she fires up and is running sweet , —- it’s has a blown rear end , broken teeth in the oil , seat covering ripped with a good pan and foam , a $2.50 fix , no brakes , no battery , other than that it is very clean and green , ohh well some red paint will take care of that , I have another wiring harness for the 96 but the soldering gun , heat shrink , liquid tape and electrical tape will do just fine —my buddy that helped me get it running offered to trade me his 300 4×4 with a blown rear end and in pieces for this 2wd 300 , he played the grand daughter card on me !!!! thinking about it

can someone point me in the direction of a 2 stroke rebuild kit?

ive got a Polaris xplorer 250 2 stroke 4×4. oil injected air cooled. the fan hasn’t been working on it and I was riding trails for about an hour then it sounded like the motor got a little louder than normal then just bogged down and shut off. wont start back up. im assuming it got hot and now needs to be re built or the oil pump went bad. im new to 2 strokes so can someone give me a link to a rebuild kit that I would need for it. I think its a 2000-2002 model
