Help installing winch on 2000 sportsman

Ok so I got a winch for Christmas and now I’m trying to figure out how to install it on a 2000 Polaris sportsman 500. I’m pretty much clueless about how to do this. All I see on the front that I might be able to mount to is the plastic bumper that’s screwed to the frame. I’m just trying to use the mounting plate that came with it. Am I doing something wrong? I have no clue so any help would be appreciated!

Bought Another One…’00 400EX

Well, I have been watching the local Craigslist in hopes of finding a decent score on an older Honda I could fix up and sell in the spring time. After being a couple hours late on some very good deals (’92 250X, a couple 300EXs, etc.), I managed to find an alright deal on a ’00 400EX…It’ll take some rescuing, but once finished should be a great, dependable quad for someone. Plus, I’ve already begun to use it as an excuse for some "forced" upgrades to mine, haha! :yeahbaby01:

My biggest concern right now is that the guy I bought it from and some of his buddies replaced the rear axle carrier bearings, but never torqued the hubs back to 101 ft-lbs; one hub is toast and I’m hoping that I don’t run into any issues installing my replacement hubs, particularly on the side that chewed up the input splines on the hub itself.

I’ll post up some pics of it later & document my progress here as well.:icon_ peace:

Front bumper for 2015 850

Found this on eBay. I know it’s not steel and would lack the strength but I only want it for the looks and an occasional small bush. It says it’s for through with 2012 or 13 models. Will it fit a 2015. Were there any changes made to the front end to where it wouldn’t fit my bike?

New Polaris General

Is Santa bringing anyone a new Polaris General this year?

Almost bought a Ranger versus my 2015 Polaris 850 Touring, because of the
need for plowing and utility, but got the plow and have a good trailer for
hauling wood, and need the extra seat for the wife on our Northwoods
exploring, so passed up the Ranger. The new General is the perfect combo
of utility and recreation…….didn’t realize it was in the works by Polaris and
kinda wish I had waited. Would be quite the cashectomy though……$17,499!

Still looks like and awesome ride, and I’m going to have to get creative on
trying to make one find it’s way into my stables!

Happy Holidays to all!
