Hello all. I am new to this forum and new to polaris. I have always ridden hondas. But a few days ago I bought my new sportsman. And so far I love it. I just had one question though. I was out today riding. There was alot of deep puddles as it had just rained And every time I’d hit one it would steam. For about the first ten minutes until the fan kicked in. Then it was minimal steam. For the first 10 minutes it billed steam when I’d hit one. Now, obviously a hot surface plus water equals steam. But I just wanna make sure it’s normal for these fourwheelers and that it’s not getting too hot. my hondas were always air cooled and they steamed too. Just not nearly as bad.

I have a question. Hopefully someone will chime in. I have a Garmin 62S that works perfectly. However the size of the screen is the only downfall. My wife has a Garmin NUVI 50 GPS. It has the same maps installed as the 62S. I am wondering if the NUVI will stand the vibration and all the other trials that the 62S has thrown at it.It would be nice if this would work on my Polaris.Thanks for the help, Ken :unitedstates:

My 14 year old is taking his recon to the beach with his grandparents. I told him not to run it in the water because of corrosion. He told me his papaw would wash it with a pressure washer and it would be okay. I told him that it doesn’t matter he could still have damage from the water. Could y’all guys tell him that I am right and some of the damage it could cause thanks.

New member and love the site so far… My question. Bought this quad used and after a week of riding noticed a bad ticking noise.. opened up rocker box and noticed rockers were cashed!!! Bought new rockers new stage 1 hot cam and new cam chain and sprocket!! Ran like a raped ape for a month and now it developed same ticking!! Opened it up again and the damn rockers are cashed agian!!!! They look discolored as if it was running very hot!! But by the plug it’s actually running little rich.. I’m lost and have no idea what could cause this. Please help

What are the differences between the 850 and the 850SP. I see the rims, eps, and ADC. Are there any other differences?

These machines have the same body, engine orientation, and frame right?

Looking to pick up an 850 non-SP this week and just wanted to make sure. (I looked around on the forums and didn’t see any discussions about this already.)

I was looking at wheel spacers for my 2002 Recon 250 es and for a set of 4 it would run me about $150. Does anybody have a used pair that they are looking to get rid of or know where i could find them cheaper or possibly made?

I have a rancher 420 with dct bought in january. I maybe wrong, but shouldnt the dct make shifting smooth? my rancher has a noticeable lurch when shifting gears.. hoping some people can weigh in before I make the trip back to the dealer. At least it is still under warranty

I have a 2003 400ex and hear a ticking coming from the top end. I adjusted the valves but I still hear the ticking. I was looking into getting a manual cam chain tensioner, but I was just wondering what I need to do in order to change the tensioner. Do I need to drain the oil first? Recently got the 400 and don’t have much experience working on it, I’ve mainly worked on 2smokers. Can someone walk me through this? Thanks.
