2004 Honda Rancher 350 : New into ATV World

Hello everyone, my name is Jordan and tonight I just bought my first A TV, an orange Honda Rancher 350 2wd. It’s in good shape, I paid $1900 for it which I thought was fair compared to others in the area. I’m used to working on cars and riding dirt bikes so I have some experience. My first question is what should I do to prepare this a tv for a long useful and fun life? And where can I get an owner’s and service manual? I’m looking to change all fluids asap as I’ve done with all my new vehicles. Thanks for any help and Id be happy to answer any questions you have

Clutch cover sealing kit?

Is there a kit or something I can get to seal my clutch up really good so water doesn’t get in. I have a qsc clutch kit but when I get in mud or water I can feel the belt slipping, I need something to seal it off so my belt doesn’t slip under water/mud.

Monarch Honda DX Throttle

A number of months ago, Monarch Honda introduced an aftermarket throttle lever that would allow a user to operate their throttle with their forefingers, rather than with their thumb. It certainly sounded like a good idea; particularly for people who don’t have a lot of strength in their thumb. In fact, it sounded like such a good idea that I got one for my wife’s Rancher.

Here’s my report/review:
My wife did not get her Rancher out of the garage before she asked me to take the DX Throttle lever off. And, I must say, ‘I agree with her.’ Instead of being on the opposite side of the handlebar from the brake (as the stock throttle lever is) the DX throttle lever sits RIGHT UNDER the brake lever. Thus, the possibility is great that someone (especially someone with smaller hands) can accidentally squeeze the DX lever, when, in fact, it is their intent to actually be squeezing the BRAKE lever. Simply put, in my opinion, the DX throttle lever is an accident waiting to happen. A person intending to apply the brake could easily accidentally squeeze the DX throttle lever and send the atv surging forward.

The DX throttle lever is not for me, or for anyone I care about.

No spark!!! trx450es….

I have a trx450es with new icm, new ignition coil and new spark plug…having an issue getting spark and starting to pull my hair out. I have continuity from yellow alternator 5pin to icm yellow 4pin…so I think I can rule out ac generator..is there anyway to test regulator without a diode tester. Any other ideas???

Any of you in the midwest see these all the time but this is first time ive seen site excavation to functional, all time lapse, and its pretty impressive to watch. Few blocks from where i live they use the one truck stop as the stop before delivery to staging area about 9 minutes west of us…staging area gets pretty neat looking too with blades and tower sections as far as you can see when theyre delivering like gangbusters…just frustrating when they get off the interstate as it stops traffic as they manuever these into and out of the truck stop.

Bad Business

I apologize if this is posted in the wrong topic but is there a place to report bad business on the board? Purchased an item through the classifieds on 6/3/15 to be told it’d ship 6/5/10. Five days later and no communication, I inquire about the tracking number only to be told they forgot about it and would ship it out on 6/10/15. Still no communication and no tracking number. Paypal will protect my purchase but I’d like other potential buyers to not have to go through this hassle with this individual.
