I own and have owned many motorcycle helmets for touring motorcycles. I have a very nice one I wear now, but it’s not something I want to wear riding an ATV because I do not think it will "breathe" well enough.
I just bought my first ATV. I’d like to find a helmet for it that is much more open than my motorcycle helmet…..however, the typical "motocross" helmets I’ve seen are too "flashy" for this old man.
So I am looking for something that’s airy and conservative….something in a solid color, like white, would be very nice. I’d like to keep the price down, under $100 as this ATV will not be used too much "on the trails". Anyone have suggestions? Or perhaps someone can explain to me why I’d need one of those flashy looking ones? I’ve never ridden an ATV or dirt bike, so my experience with that style is nil. There are probably benefits I’ve not considered.
The wife says if I want a new foreman I need to get rid of one of the two atvs I have, and I can’t decide which one I want to let go! I have a 2001 yamaha bear tracker that i have put alot of work into and recently picked up a 1995 fourtrax 200d, now the Honda is obviously a little smaller BUT so much smoother and a little cleaner. It will be used for hunting and hauling my deer stand. I have not got to use the Honda for this yet so what do you guys think?

Anybody have the QuadBoss Weekender, ATV Superstore Kit E Box or the Kimpex Outback Cargo Box seats? I understand they’re all the same, made by Kimpex and re-branded…anyway I need the measurements (W & D) for the gas can area. I’m trying to determine if any of the small ( 1, 1.25 or 1.75 gal) Rotopax units could be mounted/stacked in that space…Rotopax publish’s their dimensions…but can’t find the box gas can area dims anywhere…thanks!
New to ATVing and by the end of the summer I’ll probably be heading out into some remote mountain regions for some back country trail riding, and I’m wondering just what kind of stuff/tools etc I should bring along in case of breakdowns/events etc. Short list so far includes a GPS (probably a Garmin Montana 650T), a tire repair kit, and courtesy of my Mom one of those satellite personal locator beacons, probably the ResQLink+ from ACR.
Any other suggestions for stuff that might come in handy?
Hi there,
I’m new to this forum. I just bought a LED light bar for my Sportsman 850 and according to my calculations it would draw 10.5 amps. I plan to wire it with a wire harness that has a 30amp relay and a in-line fuse and a separate on/off switch.
My question is, do you think this will cause any problems for my battery as I’m driving ?
