I’ve seen the suggestion to either carry some kind of fire extinguisher or a fire retardant material on trail rides. I doubt I’ll be taking on the weight of even a small fire extinguisher, but I’d still like to have some way to put out a fire. What would be a good ‘fire extinguishing material’ I could bring along that would work say if a fire started in a hard to reach part of the motor that I could just maybe grab a hand full of and throw it on? I’m imagining it would be something granular like sawdust (but of course not sawdust).

I am installing a new light bar on my 2013 Sportsman 500. Can I splice into the pre-wired ignition wire under the cover of the front storage box without running a wire to the battery and ground off to the frame or can I use the contractor block for my winch?

Hello, so I took quad for a ride and it wasnt sounding normal almost like it neede oil but level was fine maybe a little over full line. so I took off oil filter cover to make sure filter wasnt in backwards which it wasnt but there was barely any oil with k&n oil filter. So I changed the oil and put Honda oil filter in. Started it to get oil flowing then checked filter again and there was plenty of oil now. If theres oil in with filter does that mean that top of engine is definitely getting oil? How do I tell if its getting oil? I could really use some info. Thanks

Hey guys 1st post mighy as well start a thread. I’m new to this site but not to having toys. ( Yamaha Big Bears, fully mod drz 110, cr125, YZ125, ktm125, rm250, yz250 countless crf50 and trx 450 quads) But like all of us as I age became a dad of 2 girls I’ve took a step back and I’m going to buy the "old mans" quad. I’m looking at Scrambler 1000cc. Also open minded to what I get but I’ll be buying new. I’ve read some and watch lots of YouTube. My thing is I wanna have the speed there if I want it but also wanna be able to ride trails with my wife on the back. I wanna be able to just cruise trails but the next corner kick it down and let it eat. Also wanna be able to climb any hill I point it at as well get thru the most nasty mud holes and all the creeks. Where I live we have about 30 acres of really good trails creeks and just good safe riding. This weekend I’m going to shop to check out the Polaris line up. Any advice be great. long story short I have a property in West Virginia that has an HOA. they rules say no ATV are aloud unless they have Noise abatement. and thats all it says what would you all consider noise abatement? I have an 05 trailblazer that I just fixed up and was going to ride in WV not sure if just having a muffler is considered noise Abatement
