RZR wrecked

RZR got rolled on Thursday night. Lots cosmetic damage, only mechanical thing as of now is an axle, rim, hub assembly, and some suspension components. Oh and tire.

Let a family member drive it with his 14 year old son sitting passenger – figured he would take it easy with his boy in there. Nope. He lost it going way too fast over the top of a hill and over she went. Broke the kids hand but otherwise they were ok. It could have been ALOT worse. Inexperience was the key factor (he owns an AC ATV but never drove a sxs). No alcohol was involved.

I was PISSED but glad to see they were ok as the machine can be replaced. He wrote me a check on the spot for what I had into it (its his problem now LOL). Still -barely- driveable and we can fix whats broken so its still useable…just not the picture perfect machine it once was. 🙁

Sorry haven’t got any pics

Well…..I guess one could see the silver lining in it all as the new lineup is about to be released, right?

So happy

Was riding yesterday doing about 45 in 5 th gear on my foreman and it backfires and cuts off. I stop and turn it back over. Rev it up a little and hear something knocking. So I blew up my engine and no I’m not happy about that but so happy I got the 3 year warranty instead of the standard 1 year that comes with it. Also it had 2600 miles on it. Thought a Honda motor would last longer than but I guess not. The bike isn’t ridden to haRd it goes threw some mud about every 100 miles but nothing deep. It’s mostly pavement or trail miles on it.

CVT drive belts and snatch blocks

New to ATVing here and just got a ’11 Grizz with the belt drive transmission and I’ve been suggested to take along an extra CVT belt along in remote rides just in case. I’m somewhat knowledgeable about where to get quality parts for cars but not so much for ATVs. Who makes the best CVT belt for my bike? Also, who makes just ok belts and who should I stay away from?

Also, I’m looking at getting a snatch block for a synthetic rope winch and wondered if the type rope determines what type of block you should get…or are all snatch blocks the same and I’m just thinking about this one too much?

Thanks

Had the tires on my 850 balanced today.

Two weeks ago, we were up in Wisconsin on a black top road, the wife on the back, just had to open her up a tad. LOL
Not the wife, the 850, at 68MPH, I backed off, the wife was screaming so loud I couldn’t think straight. LOL
The tires felt so bad the faster I went, the fronts were terrible compared to the rears.
The fronts had way more tape weights on them.
