crazy weather

well not sure if anyone else is having any crazy weather this winter
but WOW, its actually getting warmer here as were getting farther into it
having temps in the 50’s at night here now??
last yr was in the 20’s or lower and a foot or more of snow
which is the norm for Dec here!

not complaining, as the heating bills are easier now,
but I do miss the snow, LOL

new ride

OK so NOT an ATV or even a Honda
but was time for a new truck, and after some shopping with my local dealers, and well NONE of them seeming like they cared to sell a truck
I found a dealer that was, happened to be 600+ miles from me, but a phone call and a few emails
and he made me an offer that NONE of my local dealers came close to
this dealer
Bob Schwartz Chrysler/Dodge?jeep, in Indiana .(salesman Ken G.)
straight up told me he would beat any deal I get, and he did so in ONE offer, NO back and forth crap, just a GREAT price in one shot
delivered truck to my door, and did all paperwork from MY house, which was nice
might be the easiest vehicle purchase of a vehicle I ever did
and he took my old truck on trade sight un seen too!, and a GREAT deal on that as well
just a great experience, and he told me he sells vehicles like this all over the USA and even AK and other countries too

SO anyone looking for anew vehicle, I will recommend checking him out!

PM me if you want more info

any ways
new ride is a 2016 Dodge ram 2500 Quad cab, 4×4 6.7 Cummin’s loaded up pretty well
very happy so far with it too, lots of power over the older Gas Dodge I traded in!

sorry not the best pic’s but what I took real quick before dark today1

Question about Winter Storage on my mower.

I bought my new mower this last spring. Changed the oil at 10 hours then at 50 hours which was right before I put it up for the winter. Filled up the gas tank and added SeaFoam and ran it about 5 mins and put it up. It only has maybe 10 hours on it since that last oil change. After sitting all winter long in my shed should I change the oil before I use it again come this spring. I have heard you should change it after sitting so long. Thanks for any help.

Get Your Laugh For The Night!

Ok I’m no rookie to the ATV game…I turn my own wrench on almost anything and everything. That doesn’t mean I know everything, but this right here….

I want to have someone here explain "high gear delete mod" to keep from smoking the belt!!!

Ummm front diff is shot…but hey it’s got lots of extras

Last I checked it’s more of a buyers market…can someone explain the value of this thing being double new value?

Oh and if this is your bike…sorry…not sorry

This had me laughing…don’t know about y’all!

Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Free Shipping on orders over $39.00

Hello all-

I figured I’d pass along that rockymountainatvmc.com is running their deeply discounted free shipping threshold (>$39 ships for free). Also, they are advertising that they’re running a ‘cyber Monday’ sale through December 5th…they just drained some more of my cash before the year comes to a close…Okay, so I didn’t want to miss out on another $50 of bonus points that I was very close to getting. :D:yeahbaby01:

skid steers??

OK lately I have been kicking the idea around about picking up a used skid steer.
have SOME experience running them off and on for 20+ yrs
but never owned one before, or have any long time experience with any ONE make/model

SO< any one have any suggestions on what to look for, and if so WHY
as it sure seems folks have brand loyalty hang ups LOL

that lead to bashing one brand over another, and I don’t care about drinking the cooloaid, I just want a decent as problem free machine as possible
figure there has to be some model/ yr?make better than other, or known to be better/more durable

SO anyone have suggestions?

Different idea for extended warranty coverage

After doing some research online, talking to a couple of dealers locally, I decided to pass up the OEM Polaris extended warranty. Looking at all the exclusionary language in the contract, there is a significant chance that any given repair can be rejected. I like to turn the wrench myself, and plan to handle all fluid changes myself – something that is actually risky under the extended warranty, as I am learning. I know that you hear more of the bad news on the internet than the good, but it seems to me to be too great of a risk in laying out all that money if you cannot produce some Pure Polaris oil or diff fluid receipts from every service interval, or your aftermarket winch can be or will be blamed for any electrical issue, etc.. The common wisdom that your warranty is only as good as your dealer is willing to be scares the hell out of me, since I do not maintain a relationship with any of them, not buying a lot of product or service from them. So they have no vested interest in keeping this customer happy, and I fear that this will be an easy excuse to not go to bat for me in certain circumstances.

With that said, any of you who are considering the extended plan should look up the supporting sponsor on here who currently is offering 35% off the price page values for these warranties. My local dealers could only come close, and then must add tax to that. So the FixMyToys pricing is truly a good value, based on what I learned last week. It seems to be a price that can’t be easily beaten.

I decided instead on a self funded insurance policy. I am going to open up a dedicated account at my credit union, deposit the $700 (rounded up) that I would have spent, and will contribute $20 per month to the account so that if I ever need to spend big on repairs, hopefully my account will cover that. I should have over $1500 in there within four years… If the ATV is well built and I can keep it shiny side up that could be down payment for a new model or just keep on saving.

Sure there is some risk, but I am hoping that the odds are in my favor. Has anyone else considered this or done this approach to repairs? Seems to be a heck of an idea if you can swing that initial outlay (savings) and then be disciplined enough to squirrel away the monthly nut.

Very cool Accessory Plug

There are quite a few people who are adding 12Volt (cigarette lighter type) accessory plugs to their atvs.

I just came across the following plug which is both a 12 (cigarette lighter type) and a 5V (USB type) plug in ONE! Likewise, it can be handlebar mounted which makes installation even easier. With this, you can operate just about any 12 or 5 volt accessory that you want to. Very neat!
