been gone for a while

Hey everyone I hope you guys had a good thanksgiving. Ive been off the site for a little while now and i hope to be back on more often, but tonight I just wanted to stop by and leave you guys with a message and a question:

There are 86,400 seconds in a day the way you choose to spend those seconds is up to you just make sure you value and respect those 86,400 seconds because that is all you will get in a day. I spend most of my daily seconds working I am in college. I do this so maybe one day I can spend most of my 86,400 seconds a day being a doctor. So my question to you is are you happy with what you have been doing with you 86,400 daily seconds and are you happy with what you have been doing and if not how can you change it so you are happy? Please do not waste your seconds you will not get them back and you will not get more seconds in a day!

You dont have to respond to this post I just want you guys to think about what I have said.

sunday dec 6 ride put me in the hospital

we put 190 KM loop in slick icy roads and un tracked snow trails. 4 inches
of crunchey snow, son #1 was leading and I was following. WOT with a little
back off to make the corner and back to WOT, 4WD and snow flying every where. no misshaps except the polaris broke an axel . the next day my chest
was sore , Tuesday I go to ER and no it,s not a hart attack. xrays, CT scan
and ultra sound . 7 hrs on the ER bed and doc comes back and said I was being admitted, blood clot in my lung and one in my right leg right where the inside of your leg cotacts the seat edge. we figured out what happened. the polaris has a wider wheel track and my Rincon is narrower. my machine was darting left and right like the cutter bar on the old sickle mower. I was squeezing the seat hard with my legs . my leg is not bruised and feels fine.
when I was a kid, I use to think 45 was an old man. that’s my son,s age now.
I guess I,ll know better next time.

Amazing what a 2wd utility atv will pull!!

I was out scouting for dead fall tree limbs had one that fell in the road and pulled it out of the way, hooked a rope around the limb (25 feet long) off a white oak about 12 inches in diameter, hooked the rope around the ball and pulled down hill cause there was a drop off on the other side, it pulled it with ease then about halfway down the trail from unhooking there was a pine that broke off i pulled it to the side of the road. It was about 4-5 inches round. The first one is of the pine or hymlock, and the 2nd one is the oak limb.

Winch Cable/Rope – Over the top or under the bottom

I just installed a Superwinch LT3000 ATV winch on my 2007 Honda Rancher 4X4, 420 fm and then found an issue with how the cable came through the mounting bracket and fairlead.
The winch came from the factory spooled with cable coming from the bottom. The instructions with the winch says to mount winch like it is with feed coming from the bottom of spool (motor side of winch is on the left when facing front of Rancher). The mount that I am using is part number 100705 from KFI products which says that cable should be coming from over the top. They don’t say why but I assume it is because with the winch mounted with cable coming from bottom it creates a really sharp bend in order to line up through mounting bracket and fairlead.
So there were two different ways to correct this sharp bend and spool issue. 1) Leave winch mounted as it is but unwind all the cable off of winch and re-spool cable to pull off the top. 2) turn winch 180 degrees around on its mounting block (motor side of winch is now on the right side when facing the Rancher) and allow cable to pull over the top although technically the cable is still coming from underneath. Since their seems to be a lot of thoughts on the internet that believe that it doesn’t matter how the cable feeds off of a winch I wanted to generate some discussion before I tell you what Superwinch says to do.
Sorry this is so long…I drive my wife crazy when I tell a story! LoL
