last week i went up to my favorite place to go. MAINE! and while we were up there we were asked by one of the farmers to remove one of the tree branches that fell across the trail and onto his corn field. so i decided since my buddy is the trail master of those trails to go up there and give him a hand. and now i know why he needed it!
this is the first time i have worn a go pro while doing tree work, i used to own and operate a small tree company in my town.
the amsteel rope is awesome!!! i love no more wire slivers or getting kinked!
its a long video, but check it out.
I would like to walnut shells as my blast media, but so far what I have gotten is too coarse to go through the blast guns that I have (one from Harbor Freight and the other from Eastwood). Mostly working to remove rust and scale blasting in the gravel driveway in front of the workshop. I see coal slag and aluminum oxide along with glass beads in finer grits. Soda seems to be for paint, not rust. Any opinions on what media to use, the health and environmental concerns of them are welcome. Thanks!
Here’s what else I am working on when I’m not doing something to the "new to me" ’99 400EX. It’s a 1991 Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo (twins) that all began with a busted clutch & has now morphed into a transaxle overhaul, complete interior restoration, some engine work & a front suspension/steering overhaul.
Been looking and people.want too much for junk. Went hr out of town to buy a 4×8 pos trailer just to haul.atv to our land vs my 20′ flatbed….they only had 1 of 3 boxes. So called a buddy that seems to have anything and said i was looming for a utility trailer to haul just my atv for working on our land, and once there be able to hook it up to quad for hauling tools/gear to beach, whatever….he said come out, may have something for ya…i did and scored a single place.jet ski trailer.
Placed a steel order and got to cutting and burning a new deck. Had to take tounge off and cut 12 1/4" off it to alide axle carriage ahead so 60/40 ratio would be right when done
Plan was to add hitch so i can load atv on this, then hook jon boat behind it for the 8 minute trip to our lake. Unload and drag boat around lake to where ramp is at so a guy can fish it
Got it in primer thursday and geerig came by fri to help flip it to paint underside, then stopped by today to flip and set it back down. Got wiring done, added the deck and a few other thing. Fits perfectly, and just have to make some sides for it for gear hauling and not losing it. And only reason i painted it white was because buddys were all sarcastically.telling me to.do it….so i said fug’em…and painted it white lol

Volunteered to run a machine today thats doing work for another that went down..had hot parts. I talked to the guy running it yesterday to see if hed have it set up, he didnt think so so spend 2hrs this morning changing heads on the cutter, 42 new inserts, had to move pots out for these larger than they were running rotors yerterday and get them swept in, sweep in cutter….then 2hrs into running fixture hydraulic unit broke
18" cutter
Fixture with rotors loaded to get teeth cut
Quick vid of it cutting teeth…short cycle time sucks..be glad when they get main machine back up
What brand of bungee cords do you guys use? I have one that I have used for years and it is still good but I don’t know the brand. I also have some that I bought a year or two ago from Orschlens and they are junk. I also bought some at Wally World and they haven’t held up either. Anybody have any good ones that last?
