Buddys 850 XP overheating

So my friends 850 was overheating yesterday and cutting out. At first it sounded like his fan was not on while it was running, but later the fan was running. Temps were not real hot, probably 80F. My engine knowledge is based primarily around diesel engines so my first thought was a thermostat being stuck closed. I did not check for a collapsed radiator hose but his reservoir had coolant in it. Honestly I was under the weather yesterday and wasn’t real keen on even messing with it so I just recommended he load it up. Bad friend, I know, but I was feeling like crap. He has had the unit for nearly a year and this is the first time with the issue. I’m going over there today and I am going to check radiator hoses, coolant level in radiator and also make sure fins are clean on the radiator itself. I don’t think it could be an air in system issue since it hasn’t had anything done to it to introduce air into the system, but if everything else looks good, I may try to bleed it anyways. He has the extended warranty so he can take it back in for anything more than that. Anything else that anyone would recommend checking? Thanks.
