Black Diamond Weight and Size Question

Hey guys,

I have been running Vamps for about a year and a half and are looking for a tire that is a letter well mannered on rocky trails as I have been taking vacations to NC riding old rocky switchbacks. I still ride alot of dirt roads and like to dip in a mud hole here and there. The rocky trails we ride are dangerous without lateral traction as you may fall off the mountian! However I do not want to go with a tire whose sole purpose is rock riding and get stuck when I am back home.

I like what I see out of the black diamonds just trying to figure out exactly what size to get. The weight chart for the 26’s say the 11" wide is a pound lighter than the 10" wide??? I have been searching for a definitive answer on true height as well. Some say they run true size at 26 and others say they run short. Any advice would be appreciated.

Was thinking maybe 11 in back and 9 or 10 up front. The 26×12 vamps that run big really robbed my HP and looking to get a little back. Not sure if the 2 lbs per set or 2 inches in width for rear will make the biggest difference.

26x10x12 – 28.2lb
26x11x12 – 27.3lb
