Picking up my first Polaris in 16 years…a 2016 Polaris 570 in Orange Burst for a killer deal of $4,596 bucks! Not gonna say where because not quite sure about the rules on that yet. I’m tickled to death to say the least!
Let’s say in the 90s and up to 2000 I had a BAD experience with 2 Polaris quads. Both complete junk In my humble opinion. The worse of the two being a trail boss 325. Long story short they left a bad taste in my mouth. I bought a Honda 400 ex and never looked back. During those years we used to make bets on our trips to LBL Turkey Bay and Black Mountian in Harlan Kentucky on which Polaris would break down first. We always had a winner.
I ended up hanging up the off roading and got into riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. But the time has come to hang that up I feel and I’m back in the ATV game. All these years later it looks like Polaris has come a long way and I’m gonna give them another shot. Considered a Razr but I’ve been on a quad since I could walk and that’s where my heart is and all my skills and experience are stored in my brain.
I suppose my only learning curve will be mastering a 700 pound beast vrs my old 400ex sport. I’m programmed to be quick and nimble and using the throttle as a weapon if u get my drift. I’ll have to relearn all my ways of approaching things. With a sport bike it was always " hit it hard and fast, second gear wide open". Never had a beast like a sportsman so I’ll probably take it easy before hitting Black Mountian Kentucky anytime soon 🙂
