Installed new trailing arm bearings on brother’s 2006 Max 800, and the old springs were sagging so bad, decided to put a 2" lift on it.
Got everything installed, and the left axle pulled out of the diff about 3/8"…..so I popped it back in. Went for a test spin, noticed only spinning one tire. Got back to the shop, right axle was moving around in the inner joint. Pulled that axle out, the cage and balls pulled out of the joint…..I was able to put everything back in, but I am wondering if this lift is more than a stock machine can handle? I went ahead and moved the pre load on springs down to lowest setting…..just confused as to why this is happening? I have used pipe lifts for years and no problems??
