OD clutch weights

I installed Dr. Pulley OD weights in my clutch and I know that it changed the ratio and I lost some bottom end. I gained on the top but I don’t really care for it since I mostly ride trails. I found this video, I’m a little worried about my ability to sand down all 8 weights to have the same profile.

Anybody out there had this problem with Dr. Pulley OD weights and what was your fix?

350 Rancher shocks fit/ lift 300?

I have a parts 350 Rancher in the yard. Will the shocks off of a 350 Rancher bolt onto a 300 and give it a little lift?

I’ve seen threads that allude to it but nothing concrete. Lot’s of "I think"s

I’ve got a TRX250 rear end set aside and am planning on getting a 300 at some point to build. Figured if these 350 Rancher shocks will lift a 300 a little I’ll stick them in the parts pile for later.

Timing Chains and Oil Sump Question

I have a 2011 Outlander Max 650. It’s had a little knock ever since I’ve owned it. It only has 3300km on it, but it has over 600 hours (Lots of idling).

I pulled the valve covers, and it looks like the thing chains have stretched. I’ve been told it’s a good idea to replace the chains when you can see 4 or 5 threads on the tensioner, and I’ve got 6 (and a little play in the chain still).

I ordered the chains, and the guides that the tensioners press against. I don’t think there is a whole lot of wear to any of the guides, but I can replace that guide without pulling the head.

Should I worry about the oil sump screen? I know earlier bikes had a lot of problems with chain guide material collecting on the screen and starving the motor of oil. Looking at diagrams I can’t see a way to get at the filter without splitting the cases, and I’m hoping to keep the motor in the bike.

I’ve attached a few pictures of the guides, I’m hoping they aren’t worn more then I realize. If they are, is there a way to clean the oil sump screen with the motor in the bike?

Any and all opinions are appreciated!
Thanks!

Honda Fourtrax Hand Guard Help

Good Morning Everyone,

I’m am searching for a specific type of hand guard for my ’93 Fourtrax 300. I found a picture of them online, but they don’t have any markings or branding and was hoping someone would know. Please take a look at the picture and let me know if you have any info that might help. My father has them on his 300 too and he believes he bought them from Dennis Kirk but isn’t 100-percent sure on that.

Thank you.

High gear or low gear

Sorry about new thread I couldn’t find anything in topics. I’m new to polaris. I have a 2016 sportsman 570sp. My question is this. I live in wv. My normal trail riding is mostly hills with an average speed of 15-20mph. I run in high. Should I be running in low? I’ve heard that if I run in high it would mess the belt up? Any pointers would be appreciated.

2003 400 Outlander front Left Driveshaft replacement advice please

Hi,

I have a 2003 outlander 400 that I purchased with a missing front left driveshaft. It seems that there is a known issue with these driveshafts being too short and leading to an inner CV failure.

This post here http://www.can-amforum.com/forums/ca…-cv-joint.html says that the later axle should fit with some modification of the ball joint. Given that the cup on the inner plunge joint seems to be in reasonable condition am I better off to buy a 2003 axle and outer CV and a reconditioning kit for the inner CV or to get hold of a 2007 onwards complete axle with inner and outer CVs and modify to suit the later axle.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Regards,
Tote

Looking at a used 800r today

New to the forum and to Can-Am and just posted this in the intro section. Going to look at this 2014 800r today with 155 hrs & 655 miles. What red flags should I look for and do you think $6700 is a decent price? I know buying used is always risky.
