I know this is a little off topic and maybe not the right forum but Im new to the site and was wondering if any one had some experience with a 01 Polaris 325 Magnum 4×4. Priced at $1,800 is a decent deal? Helpful advise is welcomed. keep the flaming to a minimum.

’06 Rancher: Sell or rebuild engine?

So I buy an ’06 400FA two years ago for $2800. I knew the engine sounded loud, but I figured it had years of life before maybe a top-end rebuild.

I take it in to get it looked at the other day and the mechanic tells me the piston and crank are so lose, they can be wiggled 1/8 inch. Lots of tapping and knocking.

I can maybe sell it for $500 to a mechanic, or I can pay $2600-$3000 for an engine rebuild. It’s in good shape otherwise.

What would you do?

How do you lube U-joints?

2007 Yamaha Grizzly 450 4×4 (Blue)

I see a nipple on the U joints, but there is no way to get my grease gun tip over it. Is there a special fitting for it or are you expected to disassemble the joint to lube it?
Also, are all the parts to lube on the U joints internal and sealed? Meaning, is there any reason to spray lithium grease on the outside of the U joints?
Thanks

I guess this goes in here….. If not, please let me know.

Two weekends ago I went with a group to the Team Terex ride at Ride Royal Blue in Tennessee. While we were there someone told us about the app for our phones "Maplets". It’s for Android, and even for those of you still using IPhone… (not biased in the least….:nana:)

The app has many of the trail systems from common OHV parks and OHV recreational areas, marked, and labeled. It uses your phone’s GPS, so you can use it in areas that do not have cell coverage, to track your movements. It’s not completely fool proof, as we proved by taking a wrong turn and ending up in a closed off area, but pretty good.

Here are a few screenshots from the app. Hopefully this will help some of you also.
