These motors are tough

We have a couple grizzlys, wifes 2009 and my 2016. We were riding with some friends on our property when we decided to make a new River crossing for hunting season and when I was climbing the bank with the 2016 got a little carried away and flipped it over so I bailed off and all I could do was watch as it landed upside down in the river and reved up and sucked in water and hydrolocked. After we finally got it back out I pulled the plug got all the water out of the motor and clutch and change the oI’ll and filter about 6 times and it runs as good as new. I never thought in a million years that grizzly would start up after hydrolocking like that. Guess I won’t know if any long term problemso will come up but I put on about 50 more miles afterwards with not even a puff of smoke. Guess I do need new handle bars and headlight/gauge pod and it managed to kill my winch but other than that these rigs are beasts.

Air Filters

Since this topic usually brings about heated discussions, here are some interesting facts about OEM paper filters vs aftermarket, reusable filters. I know the filters tested were for a Duramax diesel, but no need to try and dis-credit this testing based on that, because the filtering material is the same as used in other air filters. Unfortunately, this test was before the r2c filters were available, so no test info on them.
I’m not posting this to try to convince anyone which filter material is the best. You can read it yourselves, see the proven results, and draw your own conclusions.

2012 Recon will not idle.

2012 Honda Recon…starts fine, and IF I can get it into gear, it seems to run ok. Power is good and is sounds normal. It does sit for weeks at a time with little use. Non-ethonol fuel used. I assume I need to clean the carb. Does anyone have a manual or detailed instructions on how to 1)get the carb off and 2)clean it properly? Thanks in adavance!

2002 grizzly 660 rebuild. Pictures and progress

What’s up everybody. New to the forums and a new owner of the grizzly. I bought it not running. The previous owner said it broke down so he did some engine work(great). He changed the cam and installed a mudbuster cam and put a new piston in, 11.1 with stock bore. New starter, stater relay and new carb. Engine is hard to turn over and won’t start at all. so I’m going to try and go in and fix it. This is what she looks like now. I don’t know much about grizzlys so the guys who do please follow this thread and help me out. I’ll post stuff as I do it. Thank you and please help me lmao

Carbuerator Issue

Can someone tell me what. other than incorrect float level, could cause fuel to come out float bowl tube? Floats are adjusted correctly but still getting some fuel coming out mainly during throttle. Poor low end response . New aftermarket carb. and fuel pump just installed too. This is on a 2009 Sportsman 500 H.O.
