Best Axle for Non-mudding XP 1000 w/2″ lift, 28″ Kenda HTRs

Well, I’ve read that for my specific model (2015 XP 1000 Touring) and similar models, the 28" Kenda Bearclaw HTRs will rub pretty hard, especially when riding two-up. I will put on the 2" lift kit in the spring, so have some time to try to get this right before then.

I’m pretty convinced from what I’ve read that most folks, with even just a 2" lift, experience axle binding or breakage eventually if they don’t replace the OEM with a heavier duty axle with more angle ability. While I don’t/won’t ride mud, I do ride a bit fast and like some rough and rocky terrain once in a while.

I’ve ready many posts about the various axles on various threads, but not really arriving at a conclusion yet what’s best for my situation. It looks like one can pay as much as $2,000, or as little as $1,000 (possibly less) for a full set front/rear. Obviously I don’t want to pay more than I have to, but am willing to pay to get the right tool for the job and try to avoid an issue. So I’d like to hear opinions based on your knowledge, for my riding style, which brand is best – e.g. Cobra, Gorilla, Highlifter Pro, Rhino(see below), Other?

On a related thread, bp405 stated "You are correct sir. Rhinos don’t have the reputation as being a good axel for machines with lift kits. Even though they are sold as part of some lift kits superATV sells. Cobras, Taylor’s, Gorillas, and HL pro series axels work best on lifted wheelers." I’ve read that elsewhere too, though I’ve heard they are rather good on non-lifted…

Thanks and let the opinions fly! :beerchug:

2016 Grizzly Decomp. Spring recall question?!

So, I called my dealership today and asked if my Grizzly needed the update. It does, taking it in this Saturday. I guess they have to pull the head off? What exactly is updated from the old spring to the new? Like to be a little more informed when I drop it off.

By the way I noticed mine is the two push start button as well. Is there a easy fix for that?

Thanks, Troy

Badlands 2500 lb winch wiring

I’m new to the forum. So thanks in advance for the help. I have a 2016 Honda Rancher 420 4×4. I recently purchased a Badlands 2500lb winch as well as all of the mounting plates, wiring adapters and fairleads I thought were necessary to install with no drilling or tapping. I also bought an accessory adapter to allow me to tie it into my ignition switch. I got the winch mounted no problem, but now that it’s time to wire it, I notice there is no remote/ignition line coming from the winch, just a red and a negative connected with a solenoid box. Am I supposed to run the red wire straight to the accessory adapter? The instructions just say wire it red and black straight to the battery but I fear that way it will drain the battery. The accessory adapter has 2 separate connections open, a white w/ black stripe and the 2nd connection has two wires to it, a white w/black stripe and a green. Any advice will help. As you can tell I’m quite the novice at this stuff.

98 Polaris 500 wont crank back up

Well, I have a 98 polaris 500. Last week I drove it about a mile to pickup firewood. Pulled it into the backyard and cut it off. About 30 minutes later, i got back on it to pull it into my shed and she turned over but out of the blue wouldnt start back up.

The first thing i did was get a new spark plug. Nothing. Removed the gas tank and throroughly cleaned the tank and gas lines and put 3 gallons of fresh 93 in her. Still nothing. I then took the carburetor off and soaked it overnight and cleaned it thoroughly. i put the battery on charge overnight just to eliminate that causing any types of problems. When i turn the key on my lights and everything work. But she still wont start or even pull start.

I went and bought an ohm meter and did a resistance test on the spark plug wire with the boot off and got a reading of 5 ohms which ive read was okay. I put the spark plug boot back on and the most I could get it to register was 2.6. This is certainly enough to be a problem, correct?

My 500 is old but shes my baby and im about to go crazy. Any ideas? Id appreciate any help folks.
