I’m trying to repair my warn winch and one of the studs on the brushes broke off and I want to remove it. I got it apart but I can’t get the rotor out of the housing. It seems like it should just pull out but don’t want to force it. I’ve removed the springs on the brushes, anyone know how to remove this?
I need to replace my stator on my 2004 carb unit but the replacements I see online look completely different. My ignition plug is one unit like the EFI models.Attachment 57826
Just bought a clean 2012 Grizzly 300 Automatic with ~20 hours on it and am having a few problems.
"Bear" with me here, I’m new to ATV’s!
It ran great when I test drove it. The seller said it had been sitting for awhile, so when I got it home I drained the tank and flushed it, then filled with non-ethanol gas and a dash of Sea Foam.
It ran great after that, very smooth, for about an hour.
Now it’s dying on me after starting and I’m getting a rough idle once it catches.
Also…
when putting into gear sometimes, it will start to cough and stumble as though out of gas. Switching over to reserve clears it up, however my main tank is full and I can switch back to it and it will run fine. Fuel tank strainers looked fine when I had the tank valve out.
It seems to really bang the clutch when engaging at times. Sometimes smooth as silk, other times CLAAAACK!!!!! Is that normal? I know the centrifugal clutch functions on engine RPM and am thinking this is probably a result of the bad idle. But again, I’m a newb with this stuff. I’ve been unable to find anything on adjusting the clutch.
Anyway, I’m trying to get this thing sorted out. I’m not finding much info on the Grizzly 300 Automatics. Any help is much appreciated!
Hello all , was wondering if anybody might know where I might be able to get a wiring plug. I was having problems getting my ATV to run properly and after too much time I discovered its the five wires that go into the throttle housing on the handgrip. I was thinking of just pulling the wires out individually cutting them and adding new ends for the plug. The plug itself has a yellow removable slide I’m assuming that locks in the wires. But before I do this I want to know if anyone knows where I can get that plastic plug piece in case I tear it up working on it. Unfortunately I cant just splice a new wire into it because the wire in question is breaking right at the edge of the plug. Talked to the guy at my ATV shop and he doesn’t just have the plugs and if we researched it correctly that whole wiring mess is $600+. Nope not happening, I know I can get, and may even have somewhere, individual connectors that I can use as a last resort but I’d prefer the actual plug. If you need a pic of the plug I can upload one. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have a 2015 outty 1000, I’ve never had a problem out of the bike, it’s been parked for two months from not being able to ride. Went to start it today to get it ready to ride tomorrow and the battery was dead. Hooked up battery tender, wouldn’t start, tried jumping it and digital readout shows E and reads transmission signal fault when I press in the brake to start it. Fuel pump kicks on with the key, and solenoid is working. Like I’ve said the bike has never had an issue, need advice on wherected to start looking
This is my first post but have 2 (new to us)"07" Polaris quads, a 330 and a 450 sportsman. These are principally used for farm work and occasional riding. Both just got fresh batteries a couple weeks apart and both wouldn’t start or even send power to the starter or lights. There are quite a number of discussions on this subject and the ECM comes up often. In both instances I pulled the ECM plug after some tracing / voltage checks and found a lightly corroded pin / socket which coincidentally (or not) was the same pin, same amount of tarnish & corrosion on each machine. After using a tiny pick like tool to scrape the socket clean and very light sanding of the pin, I reinstalled the plug and amazing, both fired right up? Wonder if these "fixes" were just flukes or does the ECM going bad thing come up just due to a connectivity problem, maybe a single pin and socket. Happy they both fired up and have been fine since.
Hello everyone. I have a 500 efi that is bogging down randomly like it is losing power. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem before?. I have checked the basics like fuel and clean air filter. It also does it sometimes when the engine is cold or hot so i dont think its the valves
