First service

My 2016 has 207 miles (14.8 hours) on it now. I’m planning on doing a lot riding this weekend, so I did the first service. I changed the oil and filter, final drive, and the differential. When I opened the air cleaner box, I had a pool of what looks to me like air filter oil. It’s blue, thick and sticky. The original filter must have really been saturated with oil. The filter seal also had glue on it. I cleaned up the air box and drain tube, then installed a new factory air filter.

Extended Warranty worth it?

Hey there,

Last week I picked up a 2016 Sportsman 570 sp in Matte Titanium.

So far, I LOVE it!

I didn’t get the extended warranty at purchase time. Should I have? I know that I have 6 months to get it… is it worth it?

Is there a third party provider that is better than the extended warranty offered directly from Polaris?

I’m not a hard rider… but I do know things break. And I also understand that the extended warranty of course does not cover neglect on my part.

Thank you for any help provided!

Mounting my winch.

Ok guys, I started to mount my winch last Saturday. I got the winch in, Synthetic Winch Rope, Aluminum Hawse Fairlead and the winch mount (came in Friday).

Long story short, The mount was wrong and its going to run me more money in shipping to get them to send me the right now so I just ordered a KFI mount.

But mean time the Kodiak is a part where I park my truck at night so I started on the wiring and its been diving me craze to where I am going to mount the solenoid.

I bought this ATV for working on the land and trail rides, but knowing how I am, Its going to end up in the water deeper then it should be, and in the mud a lot. So I wanted the solenoid to be up a bit higher then where I was going to put it.

Now I started looking at pic. on the sight and I could not find a lot on the pre 86 Kodiaks. At first I was going to go under the seat, but I am not that good making wires look that good. Then I seen some take the newer Kodiaks and Grizzly uner the hood. So I thought I would do the same. I did not want to drill into the plastics so I know I did what a lot of you are going to say I am crazy for doing, but the wireless box, and the solenoid I ended up using Velcro. I know that this sounds a bit crazy but I thought I would try it.

But I thought I would post some pic for others looking for ideas and for some to give me your input on.

2008 800 X2 Tach not working

Hello,

Can someone help me with a question about my tachometer not working. Can this cause starting issues. I’m having a hard time starting the engine. The battery is a year old and to get it started I have to place a battery charger on the battery. I may also have to turn the key several times to get the starter to crank the engine over. I noticed while trying to get more information that the RPM is monitored by the crankshaft position sensor so I’m wondering if this is the cause of the starting problem. I’m also wondering about the starter or solenoid?

Thanks,

Russ

99 honda 450 foreman

Ok I’m new to this forum but already have found it helpful. I have a 99 honda 450 foreman. I redone the top end and it was running great. Then my son was riding it and it started running like it had water in the gas. Well it was a few days before I went and picked it up but when I got there it started up but had no power cutting out really bad. I get it home drained all the gas witch was only a week old. Put new gas in and it would not start. Took the carb off and cleaned it put it back on and still nothing. So I just buy a new carb and air filter thinking this would fix it but it didn’t. I can spray starting fuild and still nothing. Replaced the spark plug and it still will not start. So I pulled the plug and checked the spark and I’m getting spark. I’m thinking timing but I’m not sure.
