Have a 1999 300 4×4 fourtrax and it idles fine. When I give her just a little bit of gas it spudders until I give it 25% throttle or more then it smooths out. This is when I am starting from a dead stop. If I am moving and in third gear or higher, it’s smooth sailing.
I have done searches and came up with cleaning the carb, and getting a carb rebuild kit. It doesn’t matter what what jets I have in the results are the same. Checked my plug and it looks good, but replaced it any way. I’m at the point of taking her in to the shop and having a mechanic give it a look over, but I was hoping someone might have a suggestion or two I can try before I admit defeat.
I want to buy the hardest working Honda ATV. One that will pull downed trees, trailers etc. What do I want? I read the Rincon with a 3 speed transmission is not a good working machine for the farm. Is an older 2WD foreman better than a 4X4 better when it comes to work? Is an manual better than an auto?

When I turn the key on, the neutral light and the orange eps light come on. Then when I start the machine they both go out. Now when you start driving, it pulls to one side then the other out of no where. No dash lights on, no codes. Just wondering if the steering box is on its way out. Quad has 1700 Kms on it. I’ve got 25’s on it and just do moderate trail riding. The machine is awesome, I’m just scared to hall down the road with it. Is there any recalls? Any input would be great.

Well the rear end is also locked even in nuetral. When we pushed it into his garage 6 months ago it rolled just fine. Already pulled rear breaks off and didn’t help. Any info is appreciated! Thanks!
