how do you feel about the quality of can-am atvs??
i have a 2016 570 outlander and i haven’t had any major complaints or quality issues yet. almost 900 miles on it. Lately i have been reading alot about people having real problems with their can-am machines. any input would be great to share with other riders….
Ok I’m having problems with everything on this bike. It’s a 2013 Grizzly 700 4×4. The guy I got it from cut the wires for the fuel pump relays and wired them together, but the bike ran fine til now. I rode it for about 15 minutes and timing chain broke, oil pump chain stretched, and intake valve bent. I replaced all that and put it back together. It cranked up and started to idle up really high so I killed it. Now it won’t do anything at all. When I turn the key on and push the button it clicks. I can hear the fuel pump running and all fuses are good. The solenoid is also new. Everything seems to be getting power, but it just clicks. Can I reset the computer and if so how?
I’ve got an 03 Honda recon that has progressively had more issues shifting over time, however, I bought a newer bigger rancher to take its place. The issue is I REALLY need the recon up and running again because we have plans to go wheeling on some of our land in the near future. Before I bought the rancher, if I kept the lights on too long it’d blow the 15 amp fuse that controlled the lights and the electric shifting. No big deal, just keep the lights off. Eventually It would just randomly quit shifting and be stuck in gear and the neutral light/headlights(if they were on) would get dim but get bright if I revved it. I solved that issue by shaking the ground wire. I would just do that every half hour of use of so. Then I bought the rancher and quit using the recon for about three months. I went out today and tired to fire it up but the battery is completely trashed (like there is a drain) and when I jumped it it would not come out of 2nd no matter what. I got if out of gear manually and put charger the on high and it will start but still no shift. Unless the charger is on high there is a ticking noise coming from the some computer looking deal in the front of the quad. When it is running the neutral light is still dim until revved. The first gear light now blinks 8 times which is apparently the angle sensor, control motor, or ecu. What do I need to do to track this down?
I really really need help!!
Thanks
Just got an 05 Scrambler and it needs a front driveshaft. Previous owner removed it to replace u joints, and lost it. I’m curious of anyone can tell me if other years, or even other models will fit? Or does it have to be from an 05 Scrambler? Thank you!
I have a 97 Recon I’ve had for the last 11 years, and the clutches are finally going out, tried adjusting them, helped a little, but not enough, so I bought a set of clutches, springs and a gasket. To replace them will I have to take the engine off the bike or can it be done in-frame? And do I need any special tools? I’m in Alaska about 100 miles by boat from any shop, so I can’t take it in and have it done. Any info is welcomed, Thank you.
i got the cover off, been there once before. drum, i can move out about 1/4 inch, then binds an don’t want to go any more. (SOME-body had it off before, and broke part of backplate where large o-ring is). i wont mention my name. can shoe’s bind from old worn out shoes and drum. it’s my 2000 450 es. drum will move forward and backwards, out, till about a 1/4, and back in. kinda like a spring is involved. i feel like it only go’s out to a groove, where shoes catch, and put it in a bind. perhaps old shoes dug into the drum. if the drum is catching the shoe’s on the way out, i cant see using the torch to heat the outside of the drum.
Alright, guys… Before anyone fusses and says to use the "search", I did. I didn’t find my specific problem so here goes:
Went on a hunting trip and took my 2007 Foreman 500ES and did a fair amount of riding for a few days… No problems, no major water crossings or anything like that. Loaded up onto the trailer and drove home, and there was some rain. God home and went to pull the wheeler off the trailer, and when I turned the key no dash lights or anything. Battery tested full and didn’t see any bad wire connections. fuses next to the battery all good. let things dry out and still no dash lights or anything. Nothing. I’m thinking ignition switch but if anybody has any experience with THIS specific problem then help me out! Thanks! Unfortunately I don’t have a garage and its starting to get cold outside and don’t really want to take all the plastics and rack off just yet unless I’m pretty certain that pulling the ignition will do it! Any quick checks anyone can think of? IDK.. I’m at a loss, THANKS!

My outlander 850 xt 2016 only has 170 miles on it. But I did a ton of mudding last weekend. I rode today for the first time since. When I press the throttle, not as much acceleration as before. Also it is often backfiring at low speeds. Any advice? Thanks in advance
