So I’m tired of getting my twig and berries smashed every time I go down a hill and My fiancé has nothing to hold her back.
She rides with me quite a few times throughout the year but not nearly enough to mount anything permanent. Most of the riding is technical with lots of hills and when going down the hills she slides into me which in return smashes me to the front of the quad.
Anyone have some great ideas? My dad has the "fender guards/footpegs" that fold up and I can’t stand them. Seems like they are always in the way when she is not on. Please share anything either homemade or store bought! Thanks!
I have read everyone uses the purple spring and shimming after doing tires. I just ordered some og bighorns 27x9x12 front and 27x12x12 for the rear. Is anyone using or has tried the gold or white spring as opposed to sticking with the purple? If you have what’s the overall difference after you installed them?

Can we get a list going? Hopefully it can become a sticky that can be updated.
So many people including myself are lost when it comes to the tires currently out and how they stack up against one another. I’m talking trail/mud tires, not just mud or just trail. Most of us will want good traction occasionally in either snow or mud and also have a smooth ride for trail.
1 weight
2 traction
3 durability
That’s how we can ultimately conclude which tire is best or Top 5.
Growlers and Zillas would be a great start IMO.
Anybody have the #s on weight?
What’s new in the market that has proven to be a contender?
I have an 87 Foreman that I purchased new. I am in the processing of “Refreshing” this thing. Muffler, fuel tank and brakes done. It has always run a tad rich on acceleration. In the past, this was not a real concern. Now that I am retired, I am investigating this rich thing a little further. I have had some carb issues before. This was due to the main air bleed getting clogged. Of course, this resulted in overall rich condition.
I just finished a carb cleaning and all is well, except for the rich on acceleration thing. There is not a wealth of information on these Keihin/Honda QA carbs. The slide seems to be timed correctly and the needle is in the middle, third, notch. Jets are the correct size. Enrichment, choke, valve is seating properly. I “Think” all of the air bleeds and fuel passages are clean.
