2006 outlander 800 hot rear cylinder

Been having trouble with my ’06 800. It has 8100 miles on it now but the rear cylinder gets very hot pretty quick from cold start. The front cylinder stays cool but rear cylinder is too hot to touch even after 2 minutes of idling. Don’t want to run it anymore than that I was thinking it could be the oil screen or oil pump? Need some help before I tear apart the motor

2014 rancher dct problems

My dct rancher with ps is acting up when starting. It turns over to long before it starts. And when it finally does it sounds like its idled way up. Like a choke is on.(no choke) and a – is showing were the n usually is. Then drops back down and runs fine with no- showing. Any ideas?

Secondary Road Adventures

I took a short ride around my neighborhood on my Outlander Max. It was a nice, spring like day with temps near 50. I never saw another car. It is always fun to ride the Outlander, even if the terrain wasn’t challenging.

It would be interesting to hear where you, and maybe with friends, road your ATVs down a public secondary road. Stop for lunch? See something interesting? Encounter any dangerous traffic situations? How did the ride go?

Rectifier issue.

Hi all. I am looking at buying a 2006 model sportsman 500 HO. The bloke selling tells me the rectifier isn’t working because the battery doesn’t charge. However when the bike is running all the electrics still work so the magneto must still be working. The only two dramas I could see wrong is that the battery is either stuffed or the rectifier. I have tried contacting my local parts dealer to get a price for a new rectifier so I know what I could be getting myself into if I go ahead and purchase the atv. They can’t find a specific part called a rectifier or voltage regulator. So I guess my question is does anyone know where abouts it is on the bike and what the part number is that I could try and find the cost of a replacement.

Cheers

1985 TRX250 Brake cable slack?

Hi all,

I recently bought this Honda Fourtrax and the PO did not have any hardware on the rear brake cable for the handle brake (left side). The cable was there but not spring, nut or barrel.

So I bought a hardware kit for it on eBay and assembled it tonight. however there is still a good half inch of slack in the brake cable which is causing a no braking situation.

I have adjusted the nut on the handlebar all the way our and the wing nut in back a good bit. Its like my cable is stretched?

So i just wanted to ask you all if you think its possible for the brake cable to stretch a good bit of distance like that. and also can you take a look at the attached picture and tell me if there is anything wrong?

Top cable is handlebar brake.

Thanks for your time,
James

570 Camo Question

Buying a new 570 this week, just don’t know whether to go with the camo or green, from everyones experience how does the camo hold up and how does it hold up for many years to come? my friend told me his 1000 is already fading white and its about a year old. i don’t want to spend the money for it to just fade after 2 years!

Any opinion is appreciated! thanks

Front mount plow

I want opinions about front mount plow system which one works the best. I have been waiting for a warn front mount bracket since oct 1. Just found out today that warn is not going to make the bracket now. This is for a 2016 outlander 1000xt and a 2015 outlander 650xt. Thanks for your opinions
