2006 Sportsman 800 (error codes)

I have a 2006 Polaris Sportsman 800 that I’m working on (important to note that I’m not a mechanic, but am mechanically inclined). Aside from the fuel gauge not working (needs new sending/float unit), I encountered error codes 41 (Intake Air Temp Sensor), 45 (Baro Pressure), and 46 (Baro Pressure).

I took the seat and side panels off and noticed that the intake from the air box to the block assembly had become disconnected at the block, and that the 2 screws, along with Reed Assembly/Gasket were missing. Replaced with Polaris OEM P/N 3021352.

I also read that the Thermister Sensor (4010644) could be bad so I replaced it as well. Also threw in a new set of plugs while I had it all apart.

After starting and letting the machine idle for a few minutes, it smoothed out considerably.

Took it for a quick spin and ran the diagnostics and now I’m getting an error code 52, and the coolant fan (OEM; brand new as well) will not run unless I disconnect the Thermister Sensor plug-in.

I read somewhere this morning about a T-BAP Sensor but I can’t afford to keep throwing money and parts as it’s adding up quickly.

Lastly, I noticed that even if the unit is off and the key is out of the ignition, a light stays on in upper right hand corner of Instrument Cluster on handle bars, so I disconnect the battery every night, but it keeps coming back on.

Any help/ideas/suggestions given are greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Kelly

Difference: YFM660FS and YFM660FP ?

I just purchased a 2002 Grizzly 660. I THINK it is the Hunter model because it has a factory winch and the full LCD instrument panel. It is early enough that has the 5 MPH limiter when in front wheel locked operation. It is green if that matters. The manual I got has wiring diagrams for the 660FS and 660FP. How do I know which applies to my machine? What is the difference?

Michigan ORV Trails

I’ve been riding the ORV trails in Michigan for decades, mostly on dirt bikes, but in recent years there have been strides to widen them for quad and side x side use… With that said, we currently have over 3,800 miles of ORV trails and routes available, and just about all of the counties in northern Michigan above Saginaw, MI have legal riding on the shoulder of county roads with permit (under 25 mph) to get from one trail system to another and to travel into towns for gas, supplies, and lodging (check before riding).
A State bill was recently passed to add riding on State Forest roads starting in 2017, which is a plus to adding more options to where you want to explore.
If you never been to Michigan, there has never been a better time to see the Great Lake State from the saddle of your quad/4×4.
DNR – ORV/ATV
Yes, I’m bias to our trail system, but the positive results throughout the years has evolved into an experience all can enjoy.

I was calling around for a 2016 sportsman 450 and one place is offering this.

Does the SP mean it has a larger chassis? I am a fit 5’7 and have been on some can am XT’s which I look like a little kid on them.
