As a whole I am disappointed with the many ‘little’ things that were not done or were done incorrectly. Two lines not connected, loose fittings and two missing bolts in the rear and the plastic and frame aren’t in alignment.
The dealer has been of little use, friendly but useless. I am told the two bolts are not needed and my question to them was "why in the hell would Polaris put them in then?". I stopped by another dealer and bought them, I will ask ya’lls opinion, should I try and get a decent alignment before putting them in or is it no big deal? They are the bolts next to the socket in the screenshot, one on each side and they are about 1//4 inch out of alignment
i have a 2008 sportsman 500 ho efi X2 it starts hrd with the ignition but when i use the pull start it fires right up. people have told me the valves need lashing but it only has 250 hours on it. any ideas?

Hey all, Is there a good method for cleaning the old grease out of the outboard CV joint? All indications are it is not able to be dis-assembled. I don’t have a solvent tank so is it just gasoline, compressed air, and use every shop towel in town?
Final question about clamps, are the non-tool style ones adequate to seal the boots?. I have seen banter that they don’t seal well without a clamp ring tool.
The nerf bars have gotten bent on both machines. I think it is mostly the attachment brackets.
I was going to attempt to straighten the brackets to get things lined up again.
I am contemplating brute force and possibly judicious use of heat.
I am wondering what affect the heat would have on the coating? It is a wrinkle finish.
What is a suggestion to recoat the nerf bars? Spray on under coating?

I have a 08 800 Max LTD outlander and the belt broke breaking the Variator Cover. I ordered a new one from the dealer and the new one has 13 bolt holes and my old one has 7. Is this a universal cover that will work with the 7 bolt hole? The dealer said this was the new part # 420611397. They are checking with BRP since the part changed from the original part # 420611391. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Hey guys so Ive been looking around and I found this sportsman for sale in my area. First of all what do you guys think of sportmans? Any know issues? He’s asking for 3600$ its a 2006 with 1650 miles. Would you guys consider this a good deal? Had my gas set on reserve and ran out of gas, could not get the atv to start again. Since I am less than a novice mechanic and 75 yrs old decided to purchase a new carb, installed much to my surprise it started. Idled too fast tried the idle adjustment did not solve the problem, let set up for a few days came back smelled gas opened air filter box which contained gas. Now will not start at all any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
