2007 Sportsman 450 to 500

Hey guys. I’ve searched and still been unable to find the correct answers. I need to rebuild my 2007 450 and wanted to bump it up to a 500. I’ve seen the kits with piston and jug and gaskets and its not that bad. BUT I know the carb is different. Can the 450 carb be jetted to feed the 500 or will I need the 500 carb? I haven’t been able to find this answer much less anyone else thats doing it. Sigh,

I hate making noob posts like this but I give up on search… If there’s a website or other post that addresses this please help..

2016 Grizzly Burning Oil

1800 miles on my 2016 Grizz and she is burning allot of oil. This started around 700 miles and got worse. 8-10 ounces lost every 100 miles and it absolutely is not leaking a drop. My dealer called Yamaha and was told to change the oil with 20W-50 till they figure out if they will pay my dealer to rebuild it or get a re-manufactured motor. This thing struggles to start when it was 38 degrees this morning with the thicker oil

I have the smoking at start up since it was new but it only lasts about 10 seconds. My compression is down but it still runs fine you dont notice any loss of power. Good news is Yamaha is taking care of it I did not have to fight with them one bit. My dealer is seeing more 708cc motors consuming oil check yours between rides!!!!!!!!!!
