I have a 2016 Yamaha Grizzly 700 Le for around 4 months now, i want to get 27 or 28 inch Maxxis Zilla’s. What do i need to do for Shim secondary spring and or weights. Will i be fine with running a 1.5mm shim and a purple Epi spring. I know i will lose a bit of power, so my goal is to get it back i dont want to lose a lot of top end and i want my bike to engage smoothly not supper jumpy so basically like stock with bigger tires. Btw i ride trail/snow mostly and go through the odd mud hole if its in my path. please help me out thanks braeden

1984 Honda trx200 clutch problems

The bike runs fine. When i put it in reverse it will drive as well but when i put it into 1st gear or any other gear it won’t move as soon as you put it in to gear it stalls, put it jnto neutral and it runs again but dies when u put it into any gear. But works in reverse. Whats wrong? Is it the clutch or clutch pads? What?

Sportsman 400 Clutch Kit

I have a 1994 sportsman 400 2-stroke. I am looking to get a bit more power out of it and I have read that some people have installed clutch kits on their Sportsmans with some great results.

The riding I usually do is trail riding in the rocky mountains in Utah. So trails can be a basic dirt road, and 100 yards later, a steep rocky road. So I am looking to increase the lower end power, without giving up too much top end speed.

I cannot seem to find any tech articles about what weight of clutch kit spring(s) to use, whether to change the weights, and or what combo of spring / weight would give me a good power boost.

Any information would be very appreciated.

October carnage progress!

1 down 2 to go!

In October, we took the whole family for an ATV weekend. I took all 5 of my machines. 600, 500, both Magnums and the Predator 90 that I got for the grandkids. Son in Law borrowed a 900 Razr.

Turns out the best tool I took with me was a tow rope. Both the 325 Magnums and the 90 ended up on a tow rope. The MOSE committed suicide I think. Blew the oil cooler line off and spit all the engine oil out onto the trail. The other Magnum just stopped running. Pull the rope, and couldn’t feel any compression. The 90 stopped running while I was using the winch on the wife’s machine to get her unstuck.

I figured out the 90 is an electrical issue. Problem is the previous owner took the key switch out and rewired it according to instructions he found on line. I can’t make heads or tails out of the mess, so I will start with a new harness and key switch later this winter.

Dove into the 325 first as that is what I have a plow for. It had broken the timing chain. Piston hit the valves and bent them both. Piston was scored, shattered the crankshaft gear. New piston, rings, valves, timing chain and gear….Gasket set and time. Finished that one yesterday. Back on it’s wheels ready to plow! In the upper right of the first photo, you can see that the chain failed at a link. Haven’t been able determine the exact chain of events, just the end result. Pretty sure the chain failed first.

Next one up the MOSE. Got the plastics off and the engine on the bench today. Tomorrow I will tear it down. Crankshaft is not stuck. Has plenty of compression. I think the loss of oil pressure caused the rod bearing to fail. I put the hose back on and fresh oil back in it after we got it back to the cabin. It would run, but loosing power. Shut it down and winched it on the trailer. I think the rod bearing has failed.

Hey All,

I just bought a used 2015 TRX500FM5F. It’s a real clean machine, barely used, kept indoors. The owner couldn’t find the owners manual. I know the basics, but I would like to understand the instrument panel, how much air to put in the tires, maintenance suggestions, basic stuff like that. I did find the service manual on here, thanks DB ! Are there copies of the Owners Manual here ?

My main concern right now is the blinking engine light. According to the little bit of reading I’ve done here I think it’s a Code 23 or oxygen sensor. If anyone can steer me to some threads that would be great. Is it something that needs to be dealt with immediately ?

Thanks !

2002 foreman rubicon carb issues

I have a 2002 honda foreman rubicon 500 that will idle sometimes without the choke on,but I usually have to leave it on. It will spit and sputter and blow white smoke as if it was running lean but when I check the plug it’s always black. I have rebuilt and clean my carb more times then I can count and I have also replaced my air filter and spark plug and but still no change.it had sit out in the weather at my grandparents house for about a year before I rescued it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
