Recent & sudden problem with acceleration "bogging". In neutral engine starts/revs fine…under load/ full throttle engine bogs way down but runs…this came on "all the sudden". Ideas? Help?
Thanks!
Hello all from Texas.
Bought a 2000 Grizzly 600 with 138 miles in nice shape.
Look forward to meeting y’all and getting to know my new machine a little better.
Looking for some advice on my 2004.5 700. Suddenly I have no power to the speedo, and it won’t crank. No lights either. I have power at the key switch, and one lead to the speedometer has power. There doesn’t appear to be any power to the coil or what I assume is the ignition module. This happened last fall for a few minutes but it went away. I know it’s a connection somewhere, but I’m hoping somebody can at least point me in the right direction.
Has anyone installed a Viper winch on a 2016 Grizzly. It is noted on their website, and a few members have noted here that grinding/adjustment has to be made to the bumper to fit 3K and up winches on pre 15′ and earlier models. They do not have that warning for 16′ and 17′. Curious if anyone has installed one on a 2016 Grizzly and how the install winch. Thinking about pulling the trigger on one. Kinda torn on Viper and Warn, heard Warn install can be a pain too.
Just got a 98 Forman 450sw in the shop today. The owner said it was smoking and was hard to start then it wouldn’t start. It had very little compression . Pulled the head and I could move the edges off the piston Up and down. Making the piston slightly crooked in the cylinder.. One side of the piston is worn bad. And there is a small amount of play in the rod side to side. How much play is to much play and what would have caused this?
Dad gave me his 2005 Phoenix. It has less than 20 hours on it, always cranked hard and after several repair attempts he parked it in his barn. Flash forward 6 years, he lost the key. I’ve purchased a generic switch on EBay and now need help.the new switch has a black / white stripe wire instead of the Brown on the factory harness….. are they compatible? All the other colors are there, just this one difference. I fully intend on buying a factory replacement once I get it running, but I needed something to get me started on the trail to hearing it run once again.
Also, since the battery is long dead, is it safe to hook a booster box to the leads for the battery or am I risking electrical damage? I have installed the kickstart lever onto the side ( almost never found it, interesting place to bolt it too) so kickstarting is not an issue ( other than the lack of room for these size 11s).
Thanks, and any and all opinions are welcomed in helping me get this beast alive!!
New Sportsman owner here. Just got a 2005 Sportsman 700 EFI. Have taken it on a few short rides and no issues until just the other day. Just the other day I went to load it in my truck. When I went to unload it a few minutes later in Reverse it just started to roll – but I wasn’t giving it any throttle. Got it out of the truck and didn’t have any other issues moving it around a little bit that day.
Then today I went to go ride it up and down the street and it started doing it again but more consistent. High, Low, or Reverse it just starts rolling like I am giving it throttle but I am not touching it. I have to be on the brakes hard to stop it. Then its really hard to get it back to neutral. From my research I gather its an issue with the belt. I already have a spare. Idle is around 1150.
Trying to pull the current belt cover off, but the gasket material feels like super glue and its not budging. Any tips?
Hello Can-Am riders. I have just bought my first ATV and it is an 2012 Outlander 650 XT MAX. I am going to use it mostly on my small farm plowing snow and getting logs out of the forest. I will also be using it on journies in the mountain, going fishing, and so on..
Love the power in my Can-Am, and that it feels so high quality:big_grin:
Just bought a 2007 Can Am Outlander 500xt and am wondering if anyone can let me know what the part is (or part number) that is cracked in my picture? Thanks!
Here’s a link to Dragonfireracing.com which has a $200 suspension lift kit (you’ll need the full kit) that let’s the 2017 Defender have a higher ground clearance than it’s competitors Can Am Defender Lift Kits | DragonFire Racing
