02 Grizzly 660 Problems

Good evening .. thanks for letting me join your group 🙂 .. I’ve got an 02 660 that’s been in storage most of its life and over the past year I have been getting lots of use out of it .. recently I had some issues keeping the bike running, it would go for 500 yards or so and it would die out and you’d have to leave the choke all the way on to keep it idling and it would get so far and then die again .. we thought it may have been the carb or spark plug .. so the carb was cleaned out and put in a new plug and fuel filter .. also oil and filter were always changed and I keep burning supreme gas in it .. this bike only has 1100 kms on it .. it ran fine all day but just started acting up again this evening .. any advice or info would be greatly appreciated 🙂

New to the four wheeler world.

Just bought a 2005 660 grizzly 4×4. I have been experiencing the body shake only when I’m going about 1-4 mph. Anything higher than that and it is fine. The carburetor was replaced in it…the idle is a little off as well. Just was wondering if anyone has ever ran into this before. It has 2400 miles and 614 hrs on it. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Putting Angle Sensor In

I am getting the 5 flash error code on display on my 2006 Rubicon. Took the panels off and checked to see if plug was dirty on angle sensor and looked good has only 500 miles on it. Added some dielectric grease and tried to reset code with charged battery still no luck.

So I ordered a new angle sensor and was wondering if I HAVE to take exhaust pipe off to install new one?

I plow for a lot of elderly neighbors and need to get it fixed with more snow on way.

The thing worked great Sunday morning then 5 hours later it was flashing. Shifts fine but sputters in reverse like everyone.

Please help and thanks!

Elka Stage 1 14′ 550

Hey guys,

I have recently caught the Elka bug based off of all of your positive feedback on the ride improvements. I live in Florida but numerous times per year we load up and head to the cabin in NC to ride the old mining switchbacks. These trails are very rocky and rough as they are no longer maintained or ever ridden. We have to cut down trees that have fallen across the trails almost every trip. My 2014 grizzly 550 eps loves it up there and seems to excel over the hondas I ride with. They are Yamaha shopping as I type this haha..

However the ride is rough! I have deleted the sway bar which has helped but are looking for a plusher ride as I have a herniated disk in my back.

We all know how much of an investment these are. The only way I see myself being able to get these is with my AZ store card with 12 month financing.

Was the 550 chassis not updated along with the 700 in 2014? Everything I see says 07-2014 for the 550 and 07-13, 14-15 for the 700. The listing on the site says they are for 2007 -2014 550. They also say for a grizzly ‘500’ which is wrong so it has me worried. It does say the manufacturer part # is ELKA-11132 which matches elka site.

some new to me trailers

SO< I been looking for a decent used enclosed snowmobile trailer, but man haven’t been finding much here,
BUT about 2 weeks ago I was at local estate auction and had the chance to grab this 20 ft enclosed trailer for a good price
or well I felt a good price
then got it home and found it needed a few things, NOT much, but more than I hoped for
so I fixed it up, thinking maybe keep it,as didn’t have much $$ into it
but was rather larger than what I need in a trailer
SO, I parked it at a friends deer processing shop
thinking HEY if someone makes me a offer I cannot say NO to, I’ll let it go?
well, 2 days later I sold it , LOL
was thinking maybe I screwed up selling it?? as snow is here now and should ONLY get more,OR sure hope so!
so bad time to be hunting for a snowmobile trailer!!

SO< went back to hunting for a trailer again? and then came across this one went and looked at it and grabbed it
Its a super clean, like new deal,
Kind of what I want , or for now any how LOL

was hoping for aa 7×9 drive on off, over a deck over, all aluminum one,
but couldn’t say NO to this one for the deal I got!!
its a 12fter+6 ft V all aluminum drive on off deal?

here’s a few pic’s of first one ( the one I flipped more or less)
and then second one I am keeping!

450 TRX Heel Guard Opinions

I’ve just bought a Honda 450 TRX and want heel guards. As I search around there seems to be 2 style types: #1-a full blown heel guard that not only keeps your foot from hitting the ground but also goes up the back of your heel to protect from the tire hitting your heel. and #2-a guard that only protects from your foot hitting the ground. Seems to me that #1 which bolts on the frame in more places would be more durable because it is attached in more places.

Any opinions on this question as well as a brand choice for durability. I’ve seen Tusk, DG, and Pro Amour. Are there others anyone would recommend. All we do is desert riding and trail riding. no racing.

thanx from Colorado
