What winch plate fits a 94 Kodiak?

I have been searching around for a winch plate for my 94 Kodiak since I ran into a clearance 2000# (pound, not hashtag) winch at Menards for $50. Problem with my search is all the pictures seem to vary size and shape of plate that supposedly fits my machine. An eBay listing here…NOS Yamaha ABA-5EH69-40-01 Winch mount plate kit 1999 Kodiak, possibly others | eBay. This says for 99, I have the silver 5 holed grill on mine, will this fit? Send me some pics of your set up to see what I really need!

2016 850 Sportsman

Just signed for a 2016 Sportsman 850. Got what I felt was a good deal and swayed me away from buying the 1000 I went in to look at. Hopefully I won’t be too disappointed once I start using it.

This is my first atv and am looking forward to working with it and spending my paychecks on new farkles.

Recon problems??!!!!

Hey, I have been off for a while, but I need help from the best on here. I have an 01 recon. It is not getting spark, cranked over, not a neutral light, it is squeaking when pull started. I thought the starter was messed up so I got a new brush plate in it and a new battery to try it. pushed the electric start while it was in neutral and it didn’t crank over. The stator was taken out and tested it didn’t tested negative. I just ordered a new stator and neutral switch assembly. does anyone know what could cause this problem.

Warn winch install – Clicking noise from relay box

Hello,

Came across this forum via a Google search. Found some similar threads on the topic, but nothing that was exactly the same, and I didn’t want to hijack someone else’s thread.

Have a 2015 Rancher (TRX420). Bought a Warn Winch kit and Honda mount. Dealer wasn’t able to supply me with instructions, so I looked around online. Got the assembly wire harness as well.

In the setup, I have the grey relay box mounted to the frame (near the riders left knee). Black ground cable running to a frame spot in the back. Red cable running to the battery (starter). Blue and yellow cables running to the winch.

The 2 smaller leads (green and black) running off of the relay box are going into the winch sub harness. The sub harness hooked up to the winch switch and to the assembly wire harness (which is plugged into the dlp). There appears to be only one spot in the instructions that the assembly wire harness plugs into the winch sub harness. In reading other threads in this forum, it looks like the other 2 wires I have coming from the assembly wire harness are if I want to add something else (like handle bar warmers). So since I don’t have a use for them now, I am thinking of "closing those off".

So I double checked and triple checked my color connections. The grey relay box mounted to the gram is making a clicking noise when I hit the winch switch. Any thoughts on why this might be happening?

Side question. Why does the winch switch have to go to the dlp in some fashion? I would think that the winch switch could go directly to the relay switch (mounted on the frame).

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Newbie on this forum, so please be patient with me. 🙂

I can send pictures of my setup if it would help at all.

Thanks!
Jason

hows it going, new member from new jersey, just bought a 1991 trx250x, forum was very useful for troubleshooting minor issues it took to get it running so decided to join. Ive been combing the internet for some kind of comparison or ratings on exhausts for the bike. Want to get the best one possible, any input would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Inexpensive clutch mods

I ride in allot of snow. SOme of it really loose and deep with no bottom. I need to get my clutches to engage a little earlier. Not worried about loosing much top end cause we generally don’t ride that fast. But it helps when the tires engage a little earlier so that they don’t have as much tendency to spin. I have an 09 800. Two brothers racking pipe, and juice box pro tuner (pc5). We run bighorn radials 27X12X12. They seem to loaf out well so that we can get on top and float in the deep powder. I was hoping to just change springs and not have to by a clutch kit. I don’t need much just a little. Any ideas out there. There is allot of info, but looking for more. Tan spring, green with yellow. I have heard of many different combos for primary and secondary, but not much say what they actually do. ANy help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
