Hello guys I was wanting to know if I put 27x10x12 silver backs on my rancher with no gear reduction will it turn them fine with no struggle the 27s weight is 30lbs each and weighs 20lbs more than my 26 mudlites I have on there now and that’s the amount more taking account for all 4 tires. The current tire weight is 97.6lbs and the silver backs are 120lbs will it cause a problem turning them going that heavy on stock gearing.
Looking at purchasing either a 2017 sportsman 1000 hunter edition, or a 2017 outlander 1000 hunter edition. I have not had a chance to test drive either yet, but hope to in the next couple of weeks. The deciding factors will be narrowed down to which one rides better, better power steering, and reliability. I am not concerned with top speed, or power as both will have way more than I will ever probably need. Main uses will be on my hunting property, and some ice fishing. Just looking for input from anyone who has experience with similiar models.
I need to replace on my 800. Is this a simple process? I can’t find anything on the internet on how to do this. Any recommendations for replacement part?
Hey guys! Went riding today with my friend on his land. We both have stock 2016 bikes. Trail riding,Tough Terrain,Mud. I only got stuck 1 time in diff lock. Polaris got stuck 4 times each time I had to pull him out. No doubt the Polaris is faster. My foreman tops out at 55. His Polaris hit 70 today. But off the line I smoke him 1 Body length ahead all the way to 3rd gear then he catches up and eventually passes me. I’m ok with the high speed difference. I love that I have more torque and power at launch. Well today we went into a narrow creek by the time your back wheels are in bottom of creek your front tires are on top of bank I crawled right out he couldn’t make it I did it 3 more times he said "I don’t understand how you can make it and I can’t" I said "should have bought a Honda and drove off" hahah Had a blast today love my foreman. I guess I like getting it dirty were I can clean it really good. Later Fellas
I have been reading this forum for a long time but just joined today. Thank you all for all the great information and entertainment too. I am currently restoring a 1991 300 fw that I inherited from my dad. The bike has only been run less than 10 hours in the last 15 years and the clutch plates stick after sitting for a day. I am going to change the clutch discs and plates and look for the cause of an irritating squeaking noise. When I first crank it and it is in neutral it starts making the squeak. It squeaks very slow at first and gradually increases to about 100 squeaks per minute. I believe this noise is from the change clutch slowly rolling over while the engine is running in neutral. Is the clutch rolling over in neutral a normal thing? I know the noise is not normal. When you shift to a gear the noise stops instantly and starts again when you go back to neutral. Any ideas on what I need to check to stop this irritating noise when I change the clutch plates? The noise gets a little quieter as the motor warms up. Could it be the one way bearing? The bike has less than 100 hours on it since new.
I have 2013 sportsman 850 xp ho eps and the fan does not come on. I dont get the over heating indicator. I tested the fan by wiring it directly to the battery and it works (bearing is pretty rough). I don’t want to wire a switch up and just turn it on while I’m riding and then shut it off when I’m done. The thermostat works I can see the coolant moving. I replace the thermistor thinking it was that and still nothing. It has fresh coolant in it and I bleed the line of any air. I don’t know what else it could be all the wiring seems to be in tact. Also when I was done bleeding the line I started to rev the engine to get it to heat up faster to put the fan on. But it starts to bog down at 3800 rpm and I get the eps indicator any idea what the problem could be?
Have a 2001 Scrambler 400 with a battery that drains when parked.
Amp draw with key off is 46 milliamps. I’ve read 10-50 is normal, but can’t seems to find solid proof. Plus, what would be draining on a carbureted machine?
I recently bought what I thought was a Polaris xplorer 400 4×4. After riding it a couple times and looking around on the internet I’m pretty sure it’s actually a 250. Can anyone confirm that based on this info?
The Trailblazer starter switch will occasionally work, but usually we have to pull the cord. The lights always come on, the reverse override works as it should, but most of the time the starter won’t engage, and the neutral and reverse lights do not work.
I did some searching around regarding problems starting the trailblazer, and it seemed as if the consensus is the switch assembly on the left handlebar. I took it apart today and cleaned it up. There was quite a bit of corrosion. I didn’t have much problem putting it back, but once I did, everything seems to work but start and the neutral and reverse lamps.
Does this sound like the handlebar switch assembly? I found one for just over $50, but I’m not sure if this is what I need. Thank you.
