New home? Pic Heavy – Erie, PA

Hey everyone,

Long time Lurking, first time Posting…

Name is Brad, and I just bought my first Honda. Well second if you count my 91 Honda CRX dx. It was the first car that I ever bought. I still frequent the crxcommunity.com from time to time, but sadly sold mine back in 2014.

Anyway, I’ve grown up around wheelers, mostly Honda’s and Yamaha’s but now I finally own one of my own.

With a new house, and long driveway, we wanted something to plow the driveway with. Having a hunting camp about an hour away from home was also a large factor in why we went with an ATV instead of snowblower/tractor-plow. Something that will benefit us all year long.

I found the wheeler used, at a dealership.

2014 TRX420 4×4
Manual shift
EFI

Machine had 1000 miles on it, and was listed at 3995.00.

Had dealership add;

Warn Provantage 2500lb Winch
RM4 Rapid Mount Plow System
Moose 50" plow

Out the door price of 5200.00

Feel free to comment on price, I’d like to hear how yas think I did.

Also came with knuckle guards, an FMF exhaust, and K&N air filter that previous owner had installed, as well as Kenda Executioners.

I will make a new thread over in the modifications, I have a few questions about the exhaust.

Im also pretty good at photoshoping/editing images, so if you want to know what something may look like on your ride, send me a message and I’ll see if i can be of assistance.

-Take care

Stripped nut

Anyone know how remove one of the little black squares of plastic with the brass threads on the front rack of a 2015 outlander max xt 800. I was putting the rack back on and stripped one. The brass threads are spinning in the plastic square and the bolt wont come out. Need help

240V Electric Pressure Washer

Hello,
Has anyone ever found/used a 220/240V electric pressure washer?

There are 120V electric pressure washers that I have used, but they don’t quite have enough psi or gpm to remove real mud and dirt. They are all over the big box stores online and amazon. (I know you aren’t supposed to spray into the joints etc. )

It seems like you need just about 3,000psi and 2.4gpm ratings to actually remove dirt. I know what they are really spraying is probably less, those are just the ratings.

The 120V washers don’t quite cut it for washing off an ATV or car. So in my mind, it would be easy to find a ~230V washer from Australia/NZ that pulls the same amperage and more power, and therefore more psi and gpm. But I have looked all over the googles, and cannot seem to find a residential priced one. (On the order of a couple hundred bucks)

The only 220/240V ones I see are close to a grand and are commercial grade.

I’d like an electric vs gas so that I can store it indoors and not worry about the gas/oil/etc. Or having to worry about maintaining Another small engine.

It seems so obvious as a market need. Most of us have 240V somewhere for an air compressor, or saws, or dryers, etc.

Has anyone found or seen an electric pressure washer that was 220/240V that was reasonably priced?

Thank you!

1995 xplorer stator question

I’m working on replacing a stator on a xplorer. I’ve got the old one out now to put the new one in. I’m having trouble getting the wires through the hole. If I unbolt the plate will the hole open up bigger for the wires and to get the gromit in place? Kind of a poor description sorry. It appears to me that it will but I don’t want to tear it off and ruin a gasket and cause myself more time and work. I was hoping someone with more knowledge can shed light on the situation for me.
Thank you for your time
Mitch

Drag weight

I am planing to drag a rock up a 10 degree grade. The rock is about 4 feet x 16 inch x 12 inch and red granite. (ish) I estimate it at 600 pounds. What weight objects have other members successfully drug?

(It is a nice looking rock, for decor purposes in our church rock garden.)

Heated Grips?!

I tried searching the entire forum before posting the question. Suprisingly didnt find much info. Someone got me some heated grips for Xmas and I was curious if anyone uses them and if they are valuable, work consistently, etc. They are cycle country grips, seem to be reviewed well on amazon. Any thoughts?

DIY: Big Gun Duals Install (Scrambler 1000)

Big Gun Duals installed.
Finally sounds as a 1000cc should.
Install went flawless without removing one single item except the stock exhaust. Directions tell you to remove seat, rear fenders, and rear storage compartment.
No need to remove all those items.

Removal of stock:
– Remove left side springs from can and connector pipe
– Remove left can from hangers
– Loosen the clamp on the connector pipe where it connects to the right can
– Twist and turn the connector pipe while pulling until it pops off (might help to spray this connection with PB Blaster before you get started depending on the age/mileage of your machine)
– Remove right springs from can and header pipe
– Remove right can from hangers

Install Big Gun:
Note – You will reuse the oem gasket from right can where it connects to the header pipe
– Slide the BG connector pipe back through where the stock one came out of
– Slide left BG can onto the connector pipe and place in stock hangers
– Connect BG supplied springs to connector pipe and BG left can
– Slide connector pipe into the right can while placing the right can in the hangers all while making sure the right can slides over the stock header and gasket
– Place the BG supplied springs on the right can
– Align/position the exhaust until you are satisfied and tighten the BG supplied exhaust clamp connecting the connector pipe and BG right can.

Done

Incredibly easy install for the mildly mechanically inclined individual.
May have been a 40 minute install, would have gone faster had I taken my own advice and sprayed the clamp with PB Blaster.
