Well today I purchased my first ATV (a fixer upper) 2003 Honda Recon 250 and signed up for the thread. Hopefully during the project I can learn a TON and also will try to track the progress as well with pictures.
Hello everyone I was thinking about a radiator relocation kit for my 17 850 max xt-p. I read a lot about overheating and I just don’t want it happening. Also thinking about ceramic coating my pipes to prevent the dreaded melting plastic syndrome :th_smiliepissed: Anyhow, what is the preferred kit being used? I did do a search but nothing helpful turned up.:th_smiliefrustrated TY DKinNH

Decided to try something ordered a roll of wrap cut it in half and had enough to do both bikes. Ordered heat shield that came out of China off e bay, and went to lowes got a vent cover did a little designing and cutting its cream colored right now will paint them black if that works take it off if it runs it to warm but with all the vents I"m hoping this helps the heat issue on the leg on that side.
Anyone else wrap the exhaust or done any customizing trying to fix this heat issue.??? :susel:
For the record the heat shield fit perfect with some trimming. I was worried about it hitting something as close as it is in there but everything is working with them on.
Did this to both bikes the 450 and the 570. What you guys think???:shot:
Thats the 450 I wrapped with camo.
wrap and heat shield in place.
In the last year I have broken 2 front outside CV joints and was thinking about upgrading my axles but I am worried that the weak point in the system would be the front diff. I would rather fix CV joints the have to replace a diff. Has anyone he had issuses with the front diff after installing upgraded axles?

I have a1990 trx300 2wd with shifting and/or transmission issues. It won’t shift into gear but does turn off the neutral light. There is noticable resistance when i shift into 1st & roll it.

Just about got the wife talked into a 2017 Sportsman 1000 Touring model and have a few questions. First, do they have the same exhaust issues as the regular 2015-2016 1000’s? Also how is the ride compared to a regular Sportsman? "I have a 2008 800". The dealer tried talking me into a 570 Touring but I’d rather have the 1000’s power for 2 up riding. Any thoughts, suggestions or opinions are appreciated.
