Hey everyone. My step dad just got a new four-wheeler and is giving me the 02 500ho sportsman. Genreally I ride when hunting with an occasional trail/mud trip now and then. When I hunt it’s big open fields that tend to have been recently disced or just harvested. I am looking to replace the factory tires that are almost bald. I’ve come down to 3 choice. Brand new 25×9.5×12 all around interco vamps, 27×9.5×12 interco super swampers, or a used set of 60% tread itp blackwaters. I like the itp but they’re 26x12x12 all around. And I’m not sure how that’d work on yhe front of my 500. They said they came off an almost identical bike. For my riding, which would be best? Snow, mud, and a little hard pack road riding. They’re all within 50 dollars of each other, itp come with chrome wheels. Thoughts? 12s to much on the front?

Went out for a ride yesterday and had to be pulled 3 or 4 times cause the whole thing was just getting way to hot. The exhaust side panel has been dripping a little here and there. Last week my daughter got on the atv and she burnt her leg. Boy was I pissed especially since it had been parked for about 10 minutes and she only touched the plastic. Me and my wife went out riding yesterday it melted her rubber boots from her having her leg on that piece of platic. I am definitely taking it to dealer but I called polaris today to get some notes started. What should i expect to be done and what kind of time frame? If they can’t fix this then I’m going to make them give me a deal on trade in and get a sxs. Either way will probably get a sxs eventually either way. BTW thanks polaris my daughter won’t even get on the atv anymore. poor girl she will get over it she’s young.

Okay so I just swapped my 04 rancher to 4×4. Today I went out to test the 4×4 (works great btw :D). I drove it for maybe an hour and then I checked the airbox, full of oil… Drained it, filled the motor back up to just below the upper line on dipstick, then went and rode it for another hour. Got back, check the oil. None on stick, all in breather box. There was also water in oil but I can’t figure out where it came in. It’s no grit in it tho, just iced coffee colored oil
all wheel drive button has on power to it, with it on or off.my question is does the motor need to be running. or were does the switch get it’s power ?
I have 2015 commander, struggling to remove bolt that holds down driver side netting. I can’t get to the nut from the top side and don’t want to remove skid plate that is pop riveted on bottom side. any suggestion. thx
