craftsman tools

Hey outlaws, not sure what is up with craftsman tools these past few months ?, but sears seems to have woke the heck up, and decided to start making and selling their craftsman hand tools again…MADE IN USA STAMPED ON THEM, AND ON THE PACKAGE !!. only thing now that worries me ?, is I read sears is closing down a crap load of their stores, and selling off the craftsman tool name ?..hmmm.what is up with this ?, any one else notice this ???. I say this, because I bought a chisel and punch set ( well..my sister bought it for me after I eye-balled the set in the store before Christmas ) and it had ” made in usa ” stamped on every one of them in the set !. anywayyyyyyyy..I had a few tools I needed to buy, a grabber tool, 24” reach claw-like thing ( handy tool ! ), bought 2 tanks of map gas, a 3 piece pry bar craftsman set, and a craftsman pick set, all had ” made in usa ” on them !, wow..craftsman woke the heck up, and seen everyone was going to harbor freight to buy the same china tool for less ?. soooo..i guess I am back to buying craftsman hand tools again, AS LONG AS THEY ARE MADE IN USA !!!..LOL. I will say, the kobalt mechanic set I bought from lowes awhile back, has been a nice little set, but this was because craftsman had their head up their azz ?..and was making and selling their hand tools made in china ?!!..lol.

Turning Speeds?

I’m a new ATV rider. I sense that ATVs need to be pretty slow while turning corners on hard surfaces, like the square intersection in my neighborhood. I slow to 10 mph or less to make this right hand turn.

Car magazine testers use a "skid pad" to test the max g-force a car can generate in a turn. The tires lose grip way before the car tips.

I wonder what velocity or g-force a Can-Am ATV could generate on a hard surface skid pad? I see videos of motocross ATVs racing on courses sliding all over the place. But I think the machines would tip before sliding on a tarmac. I know body english plays an important role in keeping all 4 tires on the ground. :pi_question_mark:

Any advice from experienced riders?

Help with CV axle problem again

I installed a new Highlifter CV axle a couple weeks ago due to breaking my oem cv axle.

I road about 10 miles a week ago and after around 2 miles or so checked it and
all was well.

Today when I loaded it back on my trailer to go for a run tomorrow I noticed grease near the wheel past the clamp on the boot on the CV axle I just replaced. The boot doesn’t appear to be damaged and I would think if it were the grease would be coming from the damaged portion on the boot itself. Not near the wheel…

Is it possible the boot had too much grease in it initially and is going past the clamp to escape, or is this something else?

Our ride tomorrow will consist of probably of another 10 to 15 miles of slow going on a frozen creek. Shall I skip out, or run it?

I will contact Highlifter on Monday.

Will 27in tires work on 2012 sportsman 800

All, in the classifieds near me someone is selling a set of 5 rims with tires 4 of which have 300 miles on them for $600 dollars. They came off of a Polaris ranger and are GBC Dirt commander tires on 2015 Polaris aluminum wheels. 2 27/11×12, 3 27/9×12. Will these work on my sportsman 800? I do not ride aggressively. The machine is used mainly for hunting, hauling stuff around, and snow plowing. Thanks!

Difference in 850 vs 1000 frame/body, lift types?

I’m asking to find out what the difference is between the 850 and 1000 frame and body. I’m finally gonna get around to lifting my 1000 between now and spring. I was looking at different lifts and have been told that the frames are the same but the rear body/cab is made different so the rear lifts from one manufacture won’t work like another due to how it mounts. Didn’t make sense to me either.

I’m still not sure on what lift. I know you pay for what you get but I’m not getting robbed to do this, and for every person who says their lift from XYZ company went on great and works great, there are that many more people who say theirs didn’t fit or didn’t work as promised. So any honest input would be appreciated.
