You guys convinced me….
Hey all! It’s been quite some time since posting but now that it’s that time of year I figured I’d pop in and say hello and a big thank you!
Reading about clutch mods etc. I installed a 1mm shim in the Bruin last season. Seems just about every time I come on here someone is talking about machined clutches. Long story short I contacted Coop45 a few weeks back and ordered a new sheave.
I came a couple days ago and installed it today. I didn’t do an A/B comparison between it and the shim unfortunately. I didn’t get the low end I was expecting from all the reading but I figure it’s due to lack of ponies. I’m thinking valves need adjusting as well. Certainly wouldn’t hurt.
No wheelies… but I did notice it has pretty good take off and gets up to speed rather quickly. Also notice, as mentioned by others, it doesn’t rev as high without the shim. Also takes less throttle. Unfortunately I didn’t get to try it on any steep hills.
Arnie does awesome work! Very good communication and quick returning emals. He received the new sheave on a Thursday and was going to send it on Friday but couldn’t get hold me for my phone number. Would have had it sooner had I checked my email sooner. :o( All in all I still received it much earlier than expected given I’m in Canada.
Looking forward to getting on the trails once they’ve gotten a chance to dry and see what it’ll do with hills. Not sure whether I’ll reinstall the shim but it certainly runs nicely for an eggbeater.

Tear Offs or Roll Offs
When I was into MX I was strictly a Tear Off kinda guy, recently I made the transition to Roll Offs.
Having just run through my first full roll of film, I am going back to my original lens (with posts) and going back to Tear Offs.
My experience with Roll Offs (Oakley Proven Goggles with Moose Roll Off system) wasn’t pleasant front the start.
Rip chord didn’t retract properly after first 20 mins of riding with new kit, doesn’t clear entire area of site (I knew this going in but didn’t know how much it would bother me), and water seemed to get in behind the film more so than Tear Offs.
Just a bad experience.
What goggles and what system are you guys running?

What mud tires to get
I’m just trying to get some information about tire choices. I have a 2015 outlander xmr 800 and right now I’m still running the factory silverbacks. I’ve never liked the silverbacks so I’m thinking of changing to something different. Now, I ride in a lot of mud and water with some low speed trail riding, so I’m trying to stick with an aggressive mud tire. I’ve had outlaw 2s before and really liked them, but I recently saw a few videos of the new super ATV assassinators outperforming them hands down in a mud hole. I’m just wondering which tire would perform better for the kind of mud I encounter. Where I ride there a lot of clay mud holes that have a hard center between the ruts, some with a bottomless rut on one side, and some that are just 100% thick mud. Does anyone know how the two tires compare on the trail? I’ve noticed the silverbacks tend to roll pretty bad at speed.

first off. I decided now would be a good time to remove my ricochet shields and clean out everything.
